This is my fave low cost Hostal in Barcelona. An easy walk to all the tourist areas. Plenty of cafes, bars, restaurants within a few minutes walk. Bus stop right outside. Good breakfast available. Rooms are on the smallish side, but I'm only there to sleep. Good wifi & TV reception.

I liked the location and staff. There was a pleasant gentleman at the reception who greeted us, gave us the key, city map and provided the necessary information.
There was a strange smell in the room, as if it had been treated with some kind of chemical — like in a hospital. )) And it was terribly cold. The air conditioner wouldn’t switch to heating mode. Although we stayed in another 4* hotel as well, and it had the same problem. It seems that in Barcelona nothing switches to heat anywhere. )))
