Quiet stay in well appointed self catering unit.

Nice quiet location. Very thoughtful basket of goodies on arrival. Small but well appointed kitchen. Friendly receptionist. Good cupboard space. Lovely gardens. Cute alpacas!

VERY late cleaning rooms. 15:00! Also didn’t clean the bathroom properly. Towels were just left as they were. Bath wasn’t cleaned.

Lovely peaceful location

Very comfortable, clean and well equipped studios in a peaceful setting outside of Stellenbosh. Lovely pool and outdoor areas to enjoy!

Would have been good if they has mentioned in the booking confirmation how popular their Good to Gather Restaurant was and it only open on weekends for lunch. Apparently people book 2/3 months in advance so feel we missed out on a treat. However we really enjoyed Lanzerac restaurant within walking distance distance and Post Card Cafe up the road!

Peaceful farm stay

We loved the casual working farm and very peaceful environment, the very friendly staff, the lovely pool area and garden, the spacious and very clean accommodation, and found it to be in a great location to explore the area and Stellenbosch.

Nothing we disliked. The bed in one of the rooms was a bit small. It would have been nice to have the option to have breakfast onsite.

Beautiful accommodation near town, on a lovely farm with views of the mountains

Beautiful location on the edge of a quiet neighbourhood, with amazing views of the mountains and town, a gorgeous swimming pool area, and lovely gardens. A comfortable and spacious room with a very comfortable bed and stylish furnishings. The kitchenette is modern and has everything you need, the shower is great. I love the food hamper you get on arrival from the local restaurant (Good to Gather), filled with delicious locally-sourced food. I have stayed at Rozendal a number of times, and I keep coming back as it's so peaceful and beautiful. It ticks all the essential boxes, and is so much better than anywhere else I've stayed in Stellenbosch. Staff are friendly and my rooms have always been spotlessly clean.

No aircon means rooms can be very hot in Dec-Jan, but fans are provided and make the heat more comfortable. The bathroom's extractor fans are very loud when turned on. It would be nice to be able to open some large windows at night. I didn't feel comfortable leaving the french doors open, and the only other windows are small ones that can open a crack. But these are minor things and I'll still be back in future!

Perfection.

This place was just perfect for us. The views were exceptional. The room was comfortable and clean with a lovely private patio area. The kitchen was well thought through and well-equipped. We had great fun in the pool and the barbecue station was a bonus. Lots of parking and really cheap to get an uber in to town. The vinegar tasting was an added delight. For me, this will be the stay against which all future holidays will be measured.

Best of Both Worlds: relaxing farm-stay close enough to the buzz of Stellenbosch.

Rozendal Stay offers the best of both worlds: a farm-stay that is on the outskirts of town and close to everything. The nights were quiet and the stars were beautiful, but the buzz of the town centre was only a few minutes away. We were welcomed by a complimentary picnic basket filled with fresh produce and treats. It was very hot at the time we stayed over and it was lovely to cool off in the farm dam and to sit on the patio with a drink. The views were beautiful and the atmosphere relaxed. We didn't get to experience the 15km trail or visit the Pantry Shop - our days were too full. We will definitely be back again for a second visit.

A perfect place in Stellenbosch

We‘ve stayed multiple times at Rozendal and we would always choose Rozendal again. The garden, pool, our apartment and the entire farm is awesome and just perfect. Located between the city and Jonkershoek it‘s perfect to go for an early morning run and enjoy the trails at Jonkershoek. Late check-out, welcome basket, etc. the Rozendal farm team does a perfect job.

The only thing, we really regret, that we always missed to join the Good to Gather lunch on Saturday or Sunday.

Fantastic location to enjoy Stellenbosch as well as just kick back and relax.

Property is lovely, rustic in parts but the accommodation is spotless well maintained and extremely comfortable. Good to Gather deli meant we were never hungry though we had lunch out as they weren’t open on the days of our stay, which we had been informed of in advance. The pool was delightful and I can imagine it being even better in summer.

My mum struggled (she’s in her 70s) without a rail to the entrance and the uneven terrain. It was interesting because the actual apartment is extremely well equipped with rails and non-slip mats internally.

Clean, peaceful cottages, but not quite what we expected

Rozendal offered a peaceful escape from the busy days around the city and winelands. The cottage had a lovely view of the gardens from the terrace, and was generally comfortable. It was spacious and had a very modern kitchen (although see comments below). Daily cleaning made it a very easy and restful stay.

Although the kitchen has been fitted with very modern apparatus, it was only equipped with exactly two of everything: 2 spoons, 2 forks, etc. This wasn't always handy when considering the need for extra cutlery for serving etc and became quite frustrating by the end of the weekend after washing spoons over and over while eating, making tea etc. While this in itself is not insurmountable, it was just irritating enough to impact the stay. This, together with a few other small things, also contributed to a feeling of a general lack of warmth about the cottage, which was different to the expectations we had from our impression of the description and reviews. It felt a little 'clinical' and anonymous. While this may be what others prefer, it was something that stood out to us and we think worth noting here in case it matters to others too.

The property is just outside town but close to everything if you have transport. We had a rental car. The room was spacious and we enjoyed the outside verandah area.

A beautiful weekend stay for our family. Well kept cottage, stunning gardens, peaceful and quiet. Gorgeous basket upon arrival. All round a stunning and memorable experience. We will be back.

Tranquil Stellenbosch stay in beautiful surroundings

Beautiful grounds and scenery with really spacious cottages and a lovely swimming pool a short walk through the farm gardens. The staff were all so attentive and friendly and we loved the farm shop and all the local produce available. Would recommend to anybody visiting Stellenbosch.

Beautiful and peaceful farm close to Jonkershoek.

There unfortunately isn’t much privacy. You essentially share your patio with other guests and you can hear people talking in the rooms next door which is quite awkward. I think this is a great spot as a base for exploring stellenbosch but maybe not as a destination itself as it lacked privacy - we felt we couldn’t fully relax in our rooms.
