Das Loreley Weinstuebchen

Man kann im Restaurant im gleichen Haus gut essen. Es gibt eine Terasse, auf der man gemütlich sitzen kann.

Unterkunft ist direkt am Gleis, allerdings war während unserer Übernachtung moderater Zugverkehr. Zummer usw verströmen den Charme der 80er.

A characterful stay in the Rhine Valley Spent one night at Das Loreley Weinstübchen, and I'm glad I chose this place. The hotel is special, and I mean genuinely special. It's not for everyone: a bit quirky, a bit chaotic, but in the most charming way. It has its own unique character, and it would be a real shame if places like this disappeared. We need to preserve this kind of spot. The staff is friendly and, just like the hotel itself, a little chaotic. It simply fits the vibe. The in-house restaurant is nice and the food is good. When I travel, I always go for something regional or national, so I didn't even check whether they had Asian dishes or anything else on the menu, and you don't need to here. They reportedly have good wines; this time I went for a beer. Because the towns in the Rhine Valley aren't always wide, the railway line runs right behind the hotel. Honestly: it's not disturbing, not even at night. You have to see it as part of the surroundings. It simply belongs here. Sankt Goarshausen itself is a lovely town and well worth a visit. Lots of history, beautiful walks, and the Rhine Valley is just stunning to take in. It's a bit quieter here than in Sankt Goar on the opposite bank, which is easy to reach by ferry. If you come to this place, you're not coming for parties or commercial attractions. You come for the special spots, for hotels like this one, for the surroundings, for the style. And then Das Loreley Weinstübchen is exactly the right choice.

One small note, and it's not really a complaint about the hotel itself: if you're travelling through Germany, remember to bring cash. That was the only thing, but yes, we've all become so used to the convenience of paying by card.

Sehr schönes Hotel, nur wenige Minuten zu Fuß zum Bahnhof und zur Altstadt...

Gute Lage fast direkt an der Fähre und zum Bahnhof. Da die Bahnlinie aktuell gesperrt ist, war es auch sehr angenehm ruhig. Ein schöner Blick auf den Rhein, den Fährbetrieb und St. Goar. Komplikationsloser Check-out - einfach Schlüssel stecken lassen und gehen.

Ich hatte besonderen Wert auf ein Zimmer mit Balkon gelegt und auch laut Beschreibung so gebucht. Es stellte sich dann heraus, dass das "Zimmer" eine kleine Ferienwohnung war, was ja ganz nett, aber für mich überflüssig war. Denn einen Balkon gab es nicht, nur ein Fenster, das bis zum Boden ging. Das war zwar schön groß, aber nicht das, was ich wollte. Trotz Ankündigung war zur vereinbarten Zeit niemand da, ich musste erst anrufen. Das WLAN funktionierte überhaupt nicht. Das ganze Haus war vor zwanzig Jahren sicher mal super schön, ist aber inzwischen recht in die Jahre gekommen und das, was ich benutzt habe, nur auf den ersten Blick sauber. (Bettwäsche, Bad waren in Ordnung!). Lüftungen, Fenstergitter, Zimmerdecke voller Schmutz und Spinnweben, auf auf den Regalen der Küchenzeile teilweise Staubschichten. Der Wasserhahn der Küchenzeile funktionierte nicht, das wurde mir aber gleich beim Check-in mitgeteilt. Eine Stehlampe mit zerrissenem Papierschirm wirkt auch nicht besonders gemütlich. Der Holzboden knarrt bei jedem Schritt, und ich bin kein Schwergewicht. Alles in allem kann man, wenn man kein WLAN braucht, hier für ein, zwei Nächte übernachten, Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis müsste hier allerdings dringend angepasst werden.
