Lovely host, excellent breakfast, peaceful location

The host James, was so helpful and kind! We left our bicycle in the garage. The pool was fantastic, lovely and warm! The location is lovely - quiet and very upmarket street. Breakfast was excellent, fresh bread, drinks and lots of choice. Thank you!

Warm welcome from James (host) and smooth check-in. Located in quiet area and 5/10 mins walk to restaurant recc by James (La Familia). Lovely swimming pool but unfortunately we did not have the time to use. Close to town centre. Highly recommend.

A very unusual place

The property is beautifully located in a quiet, residential area, around a 30-minute walk to the town centre. The staff were exceptional, especially Pascuale's hospitality was above and beyond. It felt very homely and relaxed.

We booked a two-bedroom apartment but we were accommodated in two separate hotel rooms, one of which didn't have a bathroom. It was a massive inconvenience.

Location great and village with restaurants which is good as no restaurant or dinner available on site Breakfast good, ample to eat, although very congested Breakfast area, so when more than 2 or 3 people choosing there quasants, cereal, coffee etc, is all in a tiny space but the Breakfast room is large so you have to be patient if busy Surrounding area is very scenic and quite Our room was ok, but a few little things like, only one pillow supplied, shower room needs updating and toilet seat loose and wobbly. Needs attention to detail

Bathroom area needs attention and updating, shower door dosnt Close, so water spills out making the floor very slipy, toilet seat needs replacing, as it is loose and dosnt stay up on its own you have to hold it. We stayed a couple of yeas ago in the same room so was hoping improvements had been made but disappointingly not

Very tired looking. A lot of noise from adjacent rooms throughout the night, through the walls and much footfall through the doors to different rooms. Bed linen stained. Overall décor extremely shabby.

To booking from booking.com had not reached the hotel so they did not know we were coming. Communication was a bit confucing since we do not speak french and the staff was not that well at english.

Bed was big a comfy, location is nice, breakfast was nice

run down property that has lots of potential, on arrival no one there to greet you. But after a call someone came. jacuzzi doesn’t work and pool. or very warm. Shame as we had just cycled from London and were looking forward to this. Bedroom felt dirty and the sink surface in the bathroom had been replaced with a piece of painted chip board, very lime-scaled shower with empty used shower gel and shampoo miniatures. oh and the room number was written on a post it note. advert gave the idea that this was a much bigger site which also had a casino. this is not the case but the casino is very close by.

We wanted to book diner as advertised but the owner did not respond to our attempt to book dinner. The b&b was clean but really needs some maintenance.

Good size room with a lovely view and clean. Big comfortable bed too. We were given a portable heater as the radiators didnt work until they were reset.

The property has recently changed owners and reviews and info (especially pictures) on booking.com were inaccurate. Disappointing to find no restaurant and bar as that was one of the reasons we chose the hotel. Breakfast was small without any cheese/ham/eggs as per pictures on the website. Croissant burnt on day 1. Would have had to pay for swimming pool but should have been included in booking. No mention of city tax. Radiators didnt work until reset and bathroom heater never worked. Some broken/ outdated features that needed repairing.

Comfy but misleading advert.

The bed was huge and comfy and the bathroom and shower excellent so we were satisfied with that aspect of our overnight stay. Breakfast so-so.

We felt cheated. The hotel advertised , and still does, restaurant and bar facilities. On arrival and enquiring about an evening meal we were told no restaurant, no apology. Several of the other residents themselves opted for takeaway meals delivered to the hotel. No sign of a Bar! We decided to drive into town to find a restaurant and after wandering around the town we found virtually all restaurants closed. Fortunately we found restaurant 235 on the main road and despite not having a reservation we were able to get a table and were rewarded with a brilliant meal. If our experience is how Au Charm du Lac Piscine & Spa operate then a further booking here is not worth the risk.

Found this hotel not sign posted well. We thought we were in wrong location as sign small to see. We were cooked a very lovely meal by hosts as Restaurants in town were closed. Although we enjoyed this we did not know what we were being cooked and we’re not asked if we had any dietary requirements.

Fine but I expected more luxury from the website description and for the price.

There was a nice walk nearby and an outside seating area in the hotel. The bathroom was spacious enough with a lovely bath.

The photos on the website and online make the pool look big and the description suggests luxury spa facilities. The pool is small and there is a small jacuzzi, but there was no mention of the massage as described and it was far from luxurious. I'd also been under the impression that there was a restaurant and had messaged asking about a possible evening meal, and despite receiving a reply that they would ask their chef, there was clearly no food available. Breakfast was continental. The balcony was shared with the room next door who were smokers.

very good but a few small problems

it was very good, spacious, well laid out, the staff were very helpful and friendly. the location was very good but a little far from the town centre.

the family above us had an argument for several hours and it was fairly loud going on into the night. There were a couple of small points regarding the amenities, the light fitting in the master bedroom was loose from the ceiling, although coffee making facilities were provided there was only two sachets of coffee in a four bed apartment. The toilet door didn’t shut properly and it was difficult to enter the toilet and close the door (it opened into the bathroom so it wasn’t too bad).

Disappointing. Overpriced. Avoid

Beautiful building and gardens. Comfy beds

No shower, just a bath with a tap so stiff it was impossible for me, a strong woman, to reduce the temperature from scalding. Bathroom was tatty (looked like someone had been playing with paint samples) and towels were like sandpaper. No mirrors in bedrooms of suite we booked and very cheap, well-used furniture. Breakfast was awful: very poor selection of breads and only 1 croissant between 2 of us (and these were clearly the part-baked supermarket variety). The Nespresso machine gave up the ghost on the 2nd cup and the employee merely shrugged when advised of this.
