I had stayed at the Garni Muhletal previously during December and was looking for a budget friendly one night stay in Stein am Rhein. My single room was smaller than before but I just needed a place to place my head during the evening. Check-in hours are very strict as staff is limited. The room was clean, there were adequate outlets for charging electronics and the bed comfortable. Breakfast offerings were good and standard for Swiss fare (cereal, hard boiled eggs, jogurt, bread, cheese, & jam, juices, hot chocolate, milk & coffee. Located on the edge of the Aldstadt with a bus stop half a block away. There's a nice Italian restaurant next door. The bathroom for this room was quite small, but it worked. Towels could be updated to a slightly larger size.
Again, upgraded bath linens would be nice.
