Bathroom needs some attention

Centrally located for theatre severn Plenty of tea and coffee

Shower cant be changed from too hot..It drips and is leaking at a join. Bed sheets not right size too small..

The stay was ok

Location, size of room and ease of access

Damp smell has you enter the communal area, we lost power to all sockets in the morning of our stay, therefore this prevented us from charging phones, using hair stylers etc l. Young chap on reception / bar tried to help and got lights back on but there was no urgency or resolution to provide socket power for us to use. Not ideal when your out for the weekend and need to get ready

Convenient, clean and comfortable.

Great location. Three minutes from the station. Three/four minute walk to town! Room was beautifully decorated. Bed was very comfortable.

Fridge didn’t work. One extra folding chair would have been great, but really no big deal. Amazing that a cooked breakfast was included in the price!!!

When I checked in at 6.30 on Friday I was asked what time I would like breakfast. I said 8.15 and the barman noted it on a chit. Much later, after the bar shut, I was reading the info in the room and noticed it said that breakfast does not start until 9am on Saturdays. Sure enough, at 8.15am Saturday the bar-restaurant was still closed so I had to go without breakast, which I had paid for in the room rate. I was catching a train at 9.15 so could not wait for breakfast to start.

Perfect location, practically straight off the train. Near the centre of town. Room was great, separate room with sofa + tv to enjoy a cuppa and some relaxing after shopping. Lovely shower room etc. Tea making facilities. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast was lovely and included. Paid for evening meal in restaurant downstairs, had fish and chips which was delicious and huge!! A very enjoyable stay, hoping to book again early in the new year.

Only downside was being able to hear what sounded like the heating generator from our room, but did not spoil our stay.

Surprised Experience at the Albert Hotel

The trains were so delayed that I reached Shrewsbury Station after midnight. Even though I informed the hotel they were very appreciative and understood the situation and requested I should stay calm and everything will be ok. Once I got to the station, the hotel staff went out of his way to meet me near the station even though the hotel was less than 5 mins away. That made me feel very welcome. The room was clean, large and I didn't expect this level of comfort for the amount paid. The breakfast was standard English and the portions were comfortable. Thank you.

My expectations of the hotel was low due to its price point but I was extremely surprised at my overwhelming experience. My hotel of choice at my next visit.

Staff were really friendly and helpful. Room was much larger than expected with a lounge area which was great. Breakfast was excellent.

A couple of fittings in the bathroom were a bit off. No working lock, shelf at a slant and tap was stiff.

A friendly young lady was attentive and showed willing to accommodate our needs despite our room and the general maintenance/cleaning being below standard. We appreciated being able to have an all included breakfast, access to the BBC iplayer and have different water pressure in the shower.

Unfortunately during our stay the main door hinge closer broke, our kettle was dirty, the room needed better hoovering, dusting, the fridge didn’t work and the shower leaked. When we ate breakfast the floor and tables were extremely sticky and made a slapping noise every time we moved our feet. It seemed strange that there was no brown bread, it would be good to have a larger selection of bread/decaffeinated teas/ milk available in the future. The main area of the pub seemed like a seedy nightclub rather than an all round working pub with a wide range of customers to serve.

The space in the room, no telly in the bedroom and very clean bathroom. Despite being next to the pub, noise was barely audible and closing time showed respect to patrons. Well done guys!
