Just what we needed for our weekend fishing loch Fad about one mile easy walk to town with pubs shops and restaurants .

A cosy stay on the beautiful Isle of Bute

We had a great time staying at the Guest Wing, there were 7 of us, 4 adults and 3 children and we were all well catered for. The host was very friendly and helpful and the location was ideal for exploring the island while staying in a quiet location. The house is pretty big while being cosy at the same time and the garden with beach and garden toys was well used.

The beds weren't the most comfortable, particularly the double bed in the bedroom downstairs, which also suffered quite badly from damp, the smell was pretty bad. There was a plug-in room freshener, however, the smell of that was too overwhelming for a bedroom. Not sure what can be done about that given the age of the property but thought it fair to mention it.

Really can't fault, lovely place, everything we needed and the host added lots of thoughtful wee touches like fresh flowers, biscuits, milk, tea and coffee and a big platter of chocolate biscuits! Very kind and thoughtful and felt very welcomed. Ty 😊

Lovely, clean accommodation on the beautiful Island of Bute. Really friendly hosts.

Loved the way the kitchen diner living room flow into each other - makes for a very sociable holiday. Carolyn and John are lovely hosts, very friendly and helpful. The accommodation was really clean. Loved playing football (positively encouraged) on the massive front lawn overlooking Rothesay Bay and especially with Isla the dog who needs a call up for Scotland.

Very small thing could do with a small chopping knife in the kitchen and maybe a cafetière. Carolyn very kindly offered to lend us hers….

The host Carolynne was so friendly and welcoming. We felt totally at home. Very comfortable and relaxed. Carolynne went above and beyond to help us. it was a great a great base. Sea was close and it was close to Rothesay town centre.

House was easy to find. Lovely and cosy, well equipped and the hosts contacted us prior to us getting there with easy directions. Wouldn't hesitate in coming again. Little extras like milk ,tea,coffee and nibbles make all the difference.

Fabulous

Everything. The location was perfect, right across from the water, and within walking distance to Rothesay. The house itself is roomy and has everything you could want. The grounds are spacious and Carolynn and John encourage you to play on the front lawn with the various garden games they provide in the shed next to the house. They are very kind and provide little touches such as milk and biscuits, shampoo and conditioner and even disposable barbecues.

Comfortable accommodation and lovely host

The website, business cards etc show the wonderful view from the front but the accommodation is round the back and the kitchen overlooks scaffolding, ladders, bricks etc( probably why the blind is half down. Bedrooms overlooking more scaffolding, roofs etc. We stay on Bute every year and it's our first accommodation without glorious views.

Brilliant week house is perfect

Beautiful house in a fantastic location with everything you need for your stay . Carolyn the owner very nice and friendly it was my 50th birthday while I was there and she put banner up and gifted me a bottle of wine was very kind of her . Value for money at this house is amazing if coming back to Rothesay would def stay here again.

The location was perfect, walkable to town and Port Bannantyne but also on a bus route when needed. Loved the outdoor space (we were very lucky with the weather) but the indoor sitting room and kitchen were ideal too. This property was perfect for us four friends sharing. We really appreciated Carolynn picking us up and dropping us off for the boat, a real bonus. Thank you again.

The house was beautiful, pictures don't do it justice. Had everything we would need in a good location. Owner was friendly and welcoming. Nice touches leaving cakes for our arrival. Perfect having private garden for the kids.

There was nothing we didn't like, we'd have loved to have been able to stay longer.
