Relaxing, enjoyable stay.

My husband and I had a fantastic long valentines weekend at Shegarton Farm Cottages. The location was perfect for us, we took our small dog, who enjoyed the long walks. The cottage was clean, comfortable and had all the homely comforts we required. The setting was picturesque, with morning visits from a pheasant, woodpecker, red squirrel, robin and finches. Barry and Kathleen were always on hand to assist, they were helpful, friendly and welcoming. I would recommend others to try this charming location, a break away from the stress of daily life. Only a short drive to Luss and Duck Bay Marina. We would definitely return. Thank you to Barry and Kathleen for allowing us to stay in their beautiful cottage (Feb 2026). Mr & Mrs Prentice

Great stay on a lovely property!

The property was great, the cottage was well kept and surrounded by a beautiful landscape. We also loved getting to look out at the sheep on the hill whenever we stepped outside. The owners were also very welcoming and kind. We would definitely stay here again!

Idyllic little getaway

The location had beautiful views, loads of wildlife. The cottage was extremely clean and cosy. The hosts are lovely and welcoming. Very reasonably priced in my opinion. Its an ideal place for a short break in a beautiful part of the world.

Nice hosts, perfect apartment for a few days of exploring the area

The kitchen was fully equipped which made it perfect to cook our own meals. Friendly hosts and located in beautiful surroundings. We walked up Ben Lomond and visited Glasgow. It’s a bummer that we only had booked three nights. We could have stayed a week!

Only slightly negative is that there wasn’t a lot of space to store luggage and groceries

Wonderful tranquil and comfortable location to visit local areas

Very comfortable cottage with everything needed for our stay. Comfortable beds and really quiet, tranquil location. Lovely area to sit outside to enjoy the views. Good location to explore Loch Lomond - within 10 minute drive to Luss and Balloch. Great communication from the owners on booking and warm welcome on arrival with helpful recommendations on nearby places to visit and eat. Fantastic place to stay.

Stunning Loch Lomond

Beautiful cottage set in fantasy surroundings. Easily accessible to local amenities and pubs/cafes. Luss is a lovely village nearby. Try The old Mill pub nearby - excellent food.

Wonderful views of light on the loch all times of day! Yet very close to everything you might need or want.

Shegarton is very well located, just far enough away from the tourism of some other spots closer to the loch but really easy reach for everything both remote and tourist and food supplies. We had excellent hill walking days but paths are generally clear enough even I would think in bad weather for good walks to be had. Loved as usual our “safe paddleboarding snd swimming at Luss. Very comfortable bed. Everything you could need at a moderate level, and lovely to be able to sit in grounds for morning coffee and dinner and relish the golden light. I would think property is cosy in wet weather but may be hard to dry very wet clothes.

Beautiful Luss cottage

We were met by the owner and warmly greeted. The cottages are in a beautiful spot with outstanding views. It was a cold January, but the cottage was cozy and ideally situated for a short drive to Loch Lomond and plenty to see.

Lovely place to stay.

Cosy cottage, well equipped, clean and easy to warm. it is in beautiful countryside, just a short 5 mins dive to Luss, and 12 to Balloch. Lovely owner, Barry, who directed us to fabulous walks. A big thank you - we had a great holiday here.

Finlas Cottage, Luss

We absolutely loved the cottage. It was homely and well equipped. Our bedrooms where so comfy that we wanted to say in bed for all our trip. Barry was am amazing host. Unfortunately we didn't get to meet Kathleen. But im sure we will Next time. We where there for a girly break but we went out for walks in the day time. Its was nice to get back to Finlas.

We liked everything. There was zero faults!

Everything! It was cosy, beautiful, the scenery was stunning, we were welcomed on arrival and felt completely at home. 100% would stay there again. It is ridiculously great priced and so close to the Loch. Standing up on tbe hill just up from the cottage you can see the whole Loch. We star gazed at night and heard deer and seen owls. Absolutely beautiful. We made such great memories here ❤️

A very quiet area but lovely little cottage, if you don’t mind the sheep!

Although this property is practically in the middle of nowhere, there are lovely views of the loch from the top road near the neighbouring farm. The fields of sheep surround the property and you have private parking outside the cottages. The cottage itself is small but lovely, we stayed in the two bedroomed accommodation, both were twin rooms, which I thought odd when couples stay, but an oversight on my part because it doesn’t mention a double bed on the information. It had a small lounge area and kitchen off it with plenty of facilities needed and a separate bathroom. It was very clean and the beds and bedding were comfortable. It suited our needs for a two night stay, I’m not sure for a later stay. The host we met was very nice, initially letting us know how to get there, we had seen reviews that it was hard to get to, had I not messaged to get clearer instructions, I feel we would have had trouble finding it. She told us where to go for the best views and ideas for visits out. I think it was a lovely stay and I wouldn’t hesitate to book again if I was in the area.

We didn’t realise when we booked how far away from amenities, not knowing the area. It would have been hard to find without the extra instructions from the host. The road was only wide enough for one car at a time and you have to reverse up or down if another car coming towards you. There wasn’t a mirror on the bottom of the track to the property, so found it nerve wracking trying to negotiate around the tracks to get to the main road.
