Good location, great shower, comfy bed, warm.
Attention to detail with cleaning. Extractor fan in bathroom very dusty, dust in the room, especially on skirting boards and doors cornices.

Fort Augustus was lovely - hope to see more of this area in due course.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Appin House however, ruined this honeymoon experience from start to finish.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A Honeymoon Horror Story at This So-Called “Deluxe” B&B:
I booked this property for my honeymoon, expecting a cozy, romantic retreat. What we got instead was a freezing, dysfunctional, and frankly unsafe room that completely derailed what should have been a joyful occasion for us.
No Heating, No Hot Water, Cold Water Leak and Mould!:
------------------------------
The radiators in both the main room and bathroom were completely non-functional. I was told to “turn the dial to 5” and rely on flimsy portable heaters — a laughable solution for a room advertised as “Deluxe.” The bathroom radiator never worked, and the hot water cut out shortly after arrival. So yes, we were cold and unable to wash properly. On our honeymoon.
The owner, Alasdair, then claims to have "reset the boiler" after receiving my text message - bearing in mind, no response to the text messages nor any confirmation that the issue had been resolved when infact, it hadn't as the heating remained off during our stay and please be mindful that the Scottish Highlands is exceptionally cold during this time of year(!)
Cold water leaking from shower area next to black mould growing in bathroom :-(
Health Risks Ignored
------------------------------
I have asthma, and the lack of proper heating made the room not just uncomfortable, but genuinely unhealthy for me. I reported this and received no follow-up until after leaving the property 2 days early after texting Alasdair, the owner. The silence was deafening as was the lack of accountability and gaslighting of us (his guests) — and quite frankly, utterly unacceptable.
- Towels were tiny and smelled musty and of stale urine — unhygienic and unacceptable.
- Flickering lights and a dangerously loose bathroom drawer posed real safety risks.
Reported everything, received almost no response. No apology, no refund, no urgency, no resolution. No cares.
This stay was a disaster.

Good size room with very nice new bathroom. Kettle in the room ( pretty stained) and bed was fine. Good basic room for a night.
6.0 / 10.0
Relatively good value for money, commercial operation, no staff around so in that respect pretty characterless. Location was good a seven minute walk into town. Cleanliness was good apart from the small towels which smelled fowl when wet and the debris under the beds. We got a last minute price which was fair but would have been disappointed to pay more. It’s ok for a one night stay.
The smell of the towels and detritus under the beds. Early check out.

Having been here before,it is a very nice comfortable place to stay and always busy,no interaction with the staff this time.
No breakfast available this time as the owners were at a wedding, and nothing on the site to say so,so a short walk into town to Cobbs Cafe was called for.

The location of the accommodation was good with easy parking and close to the village/town. The owner was friendly and helpful.
The instructions for checking in to the accommodation didn't arrive to my mail box until after 3pm on the day altered my plan of journey a liitle. There was a slight musky smell from the bedding and we couldn't find any instructions on how to turn down the heating in the bathroom which made the bedroom a bit warmer than comfortable.

Staff Lovely and in a great location just a short walk from the town.
Only minor fault was the pillows were a little thin but other than that everything was excellent.

the shower and toilet were good
how about meeting your guests and welcoming them Alisdair? I suspect you dont do this because its so awful. the beds are too small with DREADFUL matresses and linen ( who has polycotton theses days??) plus the linene smelt and my sons towels smelt of urine! ( one small old towel and one handtowel- what the HELL? the tv didnt have anything to watch - no netflix etc ( all available if you pay !!!! outside is a TIP - filthy, old building materials everywhere. litter, refuse, dead plants - you should be removed from booking.com

All good.

The distance between the stay and the caledonian canal
The wifi wasn’t that good
4.0 / 10.0
The size of the room and a driveway and it's closeness to fort Augustus.
The bed was uncomfortable, the pillows were hard, we had to asked for extra ones. The WiFi was terrible, the bathroom floor was covered in a resin which was too dangerous when wet, so much so that my partner suffered a fall after getting out of the bath from her shower. There was damp between the basin and the bath which we reported and being repaired after we left. The view was just a back garden. The room had two additional oil heaters with broken feet and they were not even needed, just taking up room. No wardrobe, just hangers on a series of coat hooks The TV was hung lopsided on the wall and the room lacked the practicality of a dressing table, just a chair in the corner and a mirror at the entrance hall. There was a chandelier fitted, but at the expense of a missing top panel of the four poster bed , so it could hang down. Apart from the luxury of a four poster bed and an extra large bathroom, it wasn't a luxury experience for us I'm afraid....sorry.

Price - would have thought it may inc breakfast at this price, nevertheless this just seems to be the price in Scotland theses days

A very pleasant and accessible place to stay, run by a wonderfully welcoming host. Breakfast was superb and plentiful - with (for a Highlander) proper thick Highland porridge! The room was comfortable with a stunning model bathroom, and all immaculately clean. Great as a pass through stop over to go further north (or south) or as a base for exploring the area on longer stays.

The internet was extremely slow, the connection cut and it was barely usable.

Not a lot was up to the standard expected at the price charged.
Booked as a room with an external PRIVATE bathroom. How a bathroom can be considered private when the door cannot be locked from the outside and is accessible to any other tennant at any time, Is not acceptable. Room was noisy from the traffic passing as well as a dog barking in the next door room. (Booked as no pets)
Towels provided smelt musty.
Definitely overpriced and not worth the visit.

Nice quiet location, friendly host, great bathroom, nice breakfast cooked by the host.
Nothing.

Massive room with good facilities - walk in shower, desk and TV with access to streaming channels.
The staff I met were very polite and attentive.
Breakfast was good and simple - buffet style with endless sausage, bacon and scrambled egg, with the offer of poached or fried eggs too.
Fort Augustus is a smashing wee place, bustling with tourism in June.
No dislikes, really. The room was very linear and functional, so good for freshening up after a highland walk, but also a bit clinical. That didn't bother me though.
The lead on the kettle is too short to comfortably reach the plug. It just about reached. Because the lead is wired directly to the kettle rather than a separate base, it is potentially dangerous. I'm so used to kettles having a separate base that when it boiled I lifted it up, and almost dropped it because I pulled the lead tight.

Gravel Parking- a bikers worst nightmare

The room and facilities within the room are really very good.
Seems as though there is a problem with inter room noise if you stay in the left hand building room 6. You get a lot of bathroom noise coming into room 6 especially when idiots staying in room 7 are using these Bluetooth mirrors at high volume, (probably not a great idea to provide those)

Good location with parking. Great high spec shower.
Comfy beds.
The lead for the kettle wasn’t long enough. Wot no biscuits.

Not to far from main shops, amazing shower
Was not clear what to do on arrival if you didn’t have a phone to call the owner you would have been stuck.

Jacuzzi didn’t work & only small (plug-in) radiators in the room which took a very long time to heat up the room.

Third stay at this property so that speaks volumes, great location and a short stroll into the centre, clean, well appointed and always sleep well
9.0 / 10.0
Despite the restrictions about breakfast, which I was advised of and knew well in advance, the breakfast was simply delicious. In fact there was that much of it, it made up my lunch and afternoon snack, for the hills.
A truly cosy, warm, well equipped, spotlessly clean experience. The bed was comfy too.
Just a personal view, but the room was so well furnished and appointed it lacked a chair. Apart from a small drawer cabinet there was nothing to sit on other than the bed.
