The Star Inn 1744

Great staff. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. They even changed rooms as our room got direct sunlight during a heatwave to another room for our last night so we could be more comfortable.

I chose the Star Inn as I had previously stayed there with my spouse in 2018 Therefore all must have been good for me & son to stay again in 2026'

It is a very nice place with a great atmosphere and all the staff are really friendly

Owner away for the weekend but the staff were excellent and very helpful. The property has been refurbished to a high standard and very clean. No problem parking.

Food was disappointing for the price and the kitchen closes at 6pm on Sundays. Staff again helpful and cooked my wife and I a Pizza to take away as we had been to a reception at the local golf club all afternoon and did not want to eat at 6pm. The heating was not working and the locals were complaining as a quiz is held on a Sunday evening. On returning to our room the heating was also not working and the room was freezing cold. The heating did come on at 1 or 2am and the room was then roasting. The room was not cleaned during our 2 night stay but we did get clean towels when we went to the bar and asked for them. Being cold puts you in a negative frame of mind and I started to think of the cost of the 2 night stay - for which we would expect heating, room cleaned daily, better quality of food and a cooked breakfast to be included within the price.
