Lovely hotel, friendly staff, a nice big room.

We were given a large room on the first floor. It was very warm and comfortable. The bathroom was beautifully fitted and the shower was excellent. We didn't use the bar or the reataurant but both looked very good.

Excellent stay and all staff very helpful and a lovely continental breakfast was fresh and plenty.

From the minute we arrived at the hotel Pagier on reception was very helpful and made us feel very comfortable. During our stay we requested fresh milk and again Pager was happy to oblige.

Not a full size wardrobe to hang long dresses in. Celling lights could do with a dimmer switch.

We thought breakfast included which was confusing.

We were unable to open our bedroom window. When we arrived the room was too warm which made our first night uncomfortable. We never had the radiator on for our 3 night stay.

Well, first of all, they wanted to give us a room in the underground. She’s very dark and the window is with the floor… and to wanted to convince me that there no other room available. Once I said, I won’t take it. She said OK then I have one room, but it’s smaller… why didn’t you say it from the beginning?

Building was lovely old building, room were lovely, warm and comfortable, got a complimentary upgrade aswell. Breakfast was in a lovely room and was very tasty. staff were very helpful, polite and friendly

A great value stay

The room was lovely and the bath was a great addition. In comparison to other properties in the area in was good value for money. The room was clean and had everything you needed. We didn’t have breakfast but the breakfast room looked very inviting at the breakfast smelt delicious.

I didn’t feel that it had a 5 star feel but the price wasn’t five star so it didn’t affect our stay. The property was noisy especially in the mornings.

Perfect, comfortable & a pleasure to stay at.

Very welcoming & inviting hotel with great decor & friendly helpful staff. Delicious fresh & tasty breakfast. Really clean comfortable relaxing room with everything you need including a great bathroom & easy to use shower. Will definitely stay again it's in a great location for my purposes roughly halfway between town, the racecourse & the steam railway.

I couldn't really fault this place at all, everything is just nice & easy in a convenient & trouble free way. Staff only too happy to help with any queries about facilities & the local area etc. Nothing not to like here!

Overpriced for what you get

Location good and breakfast nice (even through it is an extra cost), staff were friendly. The bathroom was modern, great shower.

We were in room 31 which is on the lower ground floor facing the car park, so at night time the food lights were on until 10.30pm, lighting up the room. TV was limited in options for streaming and the remote was filthy and difficult to operate. There was noise from the bar and entrance above. They offered decaf tea, however they couldn’t find any when I asked. The rest of the room was dated and the lounge was under the TV so you couldn’t sit in it to watch the TV.

Clean, quiet and friendly - the best sleep I’ve ever had in a hotel!

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The bed was comfortable and the location was exceedingly quiet. I usually have trouble sleeping in hotel rooms, but I slept incredibly well.

It was a wonderful stay.

Very nice staff, friendly and competent. The room was large, quiet, comfortable and clean. The bed was very comfortable.

The location was a bit out of the center of town, about a 15 minute walk. It wasn’t a problem though. The cost seemed high for the area.

Underwhelming experience. The room was on the lower ground floor hence had little natural light and was very small which in combination made it claustrophobic. Only one person was manning the whole place including the bar which made it very uninviting - it felt deserted. As others have opined it isn’t a 5 star hotel

Very nice night away for a birthday treat.

Beautiful building, a short walk from shops and restaurants. Our room was very nice and we had a bath aswell as a shower.

We found the bed and pillows a little hard. Also only 1 biscuit per person was a little stingy.

will not be staying again

room was clean and large enough.

filler in bath broken. shower get and shampoo was poor. hall light left on all night and was bleeding under door. tv remote was broken and no spare was available. so had to watch one channel all night. £149 a niht i expected better. when informed reception in the morning she laughed... sadly i didnt find it funny. i was informed only in the morning i could have used a local gym for free. shame i was not told early as i could have brought mu gym kit.
