Lovely stay in the chalet. It was very clean and well equipped. It was lovely to sit out on the balcony and to be surrounded by nature. We saw deer, bats, owls and a hedgehog. We also had great views of the ferry. The property was really handy for shops, bars, etc. we also done a lot of walking, taking in part of the ‘West Island Way’.

Ivybank has fabulous views over Rothesay. Beds very comfortable and the rooms spotless. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. The shower room is first class, wonderful supply of instant hot water and great pressure. And I liked the mini kitchen area with a fridge, microwave and toaster and cutlery and crockery. Much better equipped than a normal hotel room. Excellent if you want to have a quiet night with a self catering meal. Also good, safe parking.
Beautiful mature surrounding grounds.
On arrival the TV didn’t work. But eventually a few channels were restored.
The bottom step outside at the main entrance to the house was too high and tricky for anyone with a slight disability, like myself. And the hand rail was a bit shaky! I did take a tumble when I misjudged the step, but fortunately no damage done!

Excellent central location, yet set in a large garden that made it feel rural. Brilliant view from the large glass doors. Quirky and unusual chalet layout. All the facilities needed for a short stay. Friendly and helpful hosts.
Compact layout of chalet was just fine for a short break but maybe not ideal for a longer stay when you might need more storage space. Shower was interesting and versatile but controls were not so obvious to a new user. Access was up a steep hill so might be challenging if you have mobility issues.
