Overall for the price it was ok, but i would’ve expected more

Very clean and bed very comfortable

The room with view on the garden was a window on the ground floor on the side of the parking, so every person passing by was not just making noises but also could look inside. Not very relaxing. The door was not soundproofed at all, so every person getting in and out was very loud. If you have trouble sleeping i suggest earplugs

Really friendly small hotel

Lovely hotel, staff were so friendly and helpful. Great breakfast. Bedroom was clean and had everything we needed. Close to bus stops but we could walk to everywhere we needed. Good restaurants close by.

Would have been great to have a lounge or bar area. In fact it was just a little bit too far out of town to go back to for a rest in the day, so the days were quite long and tiring. But it would probably be fine in the summer. Nothing wrong with the hotel itself!

Great stay near the center of Salzburg

Easy to access, perfect when travelling by car. Very friendly and helpful staff, comfortable rooms.

The location is not perfect, as you still need to walk 10-15mins to town or take a bus.

Decent stay close to the airport; off the beaten path though

The entryway and lobby were very cool. There was a bar and a restaurant, however we did not use it.

The room was beat up and needed some maintenance touch-up in it. Stains on bedding, window treatments and wall, chips and scrapes primarily.

The hotel was really great. The stuff was so sweet and helpful. The room was really nice, a bit small but very manageable, really clean room. there is no fridge in the room. The hotel located at a good place, one bus away from the Salzburg hbf. They also bring you a free bus card.

Super good! Thank you the reception lady!

The reception lady is so considerate and thoughtful ! She gave us a map and clear directions about the tourist spots. What I appreciate the most is that she told us every tourist in Salzburg could get free bus tickets if they stay in local hotels. In contrast, our previous host said nothing about it although we stayed there for five days. Additionally, the location is good and we can take bus 150 to the lakes. We will come back to the hotel again.

It will be better if they have an elevator because our luggage is really heavy…

Peaceful and friendly place

Everything was great, the staff was friendly and very helpful. The accommodation was quiet and peaceful, we enjoyed our stay there. Recommended if you don't like to stay among the crowds of tourists, but close enough to be able to walk to the center and all the points of interest. Also they provide free public transportation QR-tickets

the breakfast could have been cheaper - we didn't want to pay so much, we don't eat much and it's just unreasonable for us. I understand though that for people who eat a lot for breakfast it worth it

Middle-aged couple (45–50) from Budapest,HUNGARY: We spent 5 very pleasant nights at Hotel Ganslhof.

Accommodation (9/10): We’re quite discerning guests, but we don’t enjoy the impersonality that often comes with 5-star hotels. We prefer smaller hotels with a more personal touch, while being extremely particular about cleanliness. Ganslhof, despite its 3-star rating, exceeded all our expectations in this regard — it was exceptionally clean, cleaner than many 5-star hotels we’ve experienced in Turkey! And that says a lot! The rooms were checked daily, trash was removed, and towels and bed linens were replaced every single day — which, honestly, felt a bit excessive for us. For us, it was a perfectly clean and comfortable place to stay. Breakfast – reviewed from a chef’s perspective (9/10): As a trained chef, I evaluated the breakfast with a critical eye, and I must say it was plentiful, high-quality, and delicious. The diligent and friendly staff never let anything run out — they constantly replenished food and drinks. From a hospitality perspective, I would only suggest rotating or complementing the daily egg dishes (boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, sunny-side-up eggs) with hot sausages, frankfurters, or other meat options like wurst or krinolin. But beyond that, I really can’t add any criticism — breakfast was excellent! Hotel staff (10/10): Extremely kind, helpful, cheerful, hardworking, and genuinely likable! Transportation tip: Attention! Upon paying the local tourist tax at check-in, and completing a simple email registration, the hotel provides a "Salzburg Guest Mobility Ticket" for the duration of your stay, which allows free use of Salzburg’s public transport (buses, trolleybuses). Very convenient! (+) We highly recommend the “Salzburg Card”! It cost €47 for 3 days, granting free or heavily discounted access to Salzburg’s top attractions and also includes use of public transportation. (++) Right across the street from the hotel is an extraordinary Indian restaurant (Zaffran) — highly recommended!

For those who appreciate perfect silence: It’s worth paying a few extra euros for a garden-facing room, as there’s a somewhat busy road in front of the hotel, and traffic noise can be heard even from the 3rd floor if the window is open. (There is an elevator!) We personally weren’t bothered by it, as we usually returned late in the evening, when traffic had already quieted down. As for the beds — several guests mentioned they found them a bit uncomfortable. I would call it more of a technical detail: the bed consists of a 20 cm thick, very soft base mattress, topped with an additional 10 cm soft topper. Many people prefer a firmer sleeping surface, so they may get the impression that the mattress is worn out — but in my opinion, it’s not worn out at all. It’s simply too soft due to its total 30 cm thickness (20 + 10). I’d put it this way: the beds have been designed to be too comfortable.

Great Location with a Friendly Welcome!

Excellent service from staff and very friendly. Breakfast was varied and all fresh and the Hotel was in a good location to walk into the city. The free bus tickets were also an unexpected bonus! Comfortable beds and good-sized room.

Not enough pillows and the fan was hidden behind a curtain, which we didn't find until our last night 😅

Extraordinary friendly staff, clean and comfy room, great breakfast, two egg choices available and plenty of other meat/cheese/cereal options. Hotel provided on/off bus privileges which was nice surprise, secure parking worth the 10 Euros per day.

Great spot in Salzburg

Owner very friendly and helpful with luggage, bus tickets, inquiries about rental cars, etc. While no air conditioning a large fan was perfect for keeping the room cool (and drying a few rinsed out clothes). Included breakfast was very good with a few different options daily. Easy walk to the old area and train station. A couple of restaurants were close by if you had walked enough that day, but lots a bit further. Grounds were very nice. Would stay again.

With no a/c a fan might not be enough in very hot weather.

It had everything we wanted in a hotel in terms of room, service and location.

Breakfast was a bit expensive for what we got. Price of the room was good but we were also charged for parking which, with the price of the breakfast, made the value less desirable. But, overall, would stay here again.

Hotel Ganslhof is located very close to the centre. Thomas the owner welcomed us with a smile and a lot of courtesy and helpfulness. The place is very relaxing, with a large private uncovered car park inside at a cost of € 10 per day. The room is well furnished. Modern bathroom with modern sanitary facilities and large shower. Well heated. The room has been carefully arranged and the bed made every day. The area is quiet and you sleep well. Comfortable bed. You can comfortably walk to the centre in 10 -15 minutes. So the car is not needed. And this is great because parking in the centre of Salzburg is difficult and expensive. Wi-Fi works well and is fast. Television on the wall. The breakfast € 14 is fair and plentiful. Breakfast room clean and very comfortable.

I would improve the central lighting of the room with a brighter lamp. But it's a marginal thing. After all, we didn't go to Salzburg to stay in the room.

Peaceful place to stay

Very nice hotel in a quiet place. Very friendly staff helped us absolutely with everything. The room was quite big, very comfortable and clean. It had everything we needed. The breakfast was really nice and tasty. Our son uses active wheelchair and the hotel is perfectly accessible. In general we were glad that we chose that hotel and we really enjoyed our stay in Salzburg.

Spacious room. Quiet - didn’t hear other guests. Good location - 10 minute walk to the smaller shops/restaurants, some pubs close to the hotel. 15/20 walk to the river and the main shops/restaurants. Owners very welcoming, gave lots of information about attractions. I would highly recommend The Sound of Music Tour, you have to do it when you in Salzburg. Plenty of picturesque views that we wouldn’t have seen.

Room was very hot, even at the end of November. Turned heating off, opened window, but couldn’t leave it open during the night due to street noise, but that was enough to make the room a comfortable temperature.
