nice stay for one night!

the location was very close to the center and to the christmas market. supermarkets and restaurants are nearby. the room works, nothing to complain about esp for just one night

Staff extremely rude, unhelpful, terrible attitude. Room smelled bad. Paid for baby cot which was not in the room. Went to reception to resolve, staff were pretty disinterested but did arrange for a cot to be sent to the room. Received a cot (unbuilt) only to find it was broken. Returned it - no apology. Received a second cot - which I then setup. Furnishings in the room are in terrible condition. 1/10 roll of toilet roll on the room. No hot water on 2 days! Elevator is laughable, not reliable and space for 2 small people. not suitable for families with children in push chairs.

The window didn't close properly due to a faulty lock. This allowed a lot of noise from the street to enter.

Easy budget hotel with a nostalgic twist

The location of this budget hotel was very good. The facilities are a bit older and it has some very nostalgic common rooms (like a game room and a salon of bygone times).

When I arrived, there was no one at the desk due to a christian holiday, despite the fact that I gave up my arrival time from the beginning. They did give me instructions to enter to the hotel on my own with a locker and to self-check-in, which was a bit tricky but I managed. At check-out I again did not find anybody at the front desk, so it felt all a bit anonymous.

lovely welcoming hotel. lovely lad on reception when we arrived. room lovely on 4th floor, bathroom nearly as big as room. comfy bed. it is on a busy street but double glazed windows helped with noise. car park at rear but you have to go on street behind to get to it & press buzzer for entry. lots of eateries close by & short walk to others.

Great hotel

Köln is a beautiful city , so impressed we visited during the Euros and the location is about 20 mins walk to city centre but easily accessible via the underground. Loads of nice restaurants around the hotel and would recommend to anyone , the temperature was extremely hot so coming back to a room with air con and having a fridge in the room was bliss. The bed was so comfortable and the shower had hot water at all times which some hotels fail to provide. Breakfast was fine and a very quaint setting. A great hotel enjoy. also a free safe in room which for us was essential.

Nice breakfast with super breakfast staff. Centrally located near AltStadt and Messe. Nice staff.

Air conditioning was broken, staff were unable to fix but compensated me fairly. Beds are old and uncomfortable. Maid service was inattentive and often missed basic things like soap, or tissues or coffee. Comically small shower gel. Extremely warm without airconditioning no air flow and air-conditioning unit was filthy, coated in dust. Impossible to sleep with the window open due to noise.

It is an old place but clean and comfy. Make sure you know details of your reservation because some new employees may ask you for additional payments, simply because they are new, no bad intention from them and it is then sorted out easily.

It did not met the expectations

The location was good, good public transportation was available in the proximities, and there were restaurants and markets around. The rooms were very clean. The cutest part of the hotel is the communitarian rooms (there are at least two), so if you are planning to use the communal parts of the hotel (for staying with your family, playing some games, or reading a book/working on your own), this is very much the place. These communal spaces are so precious and very beautiful.

Honestly, when I book a hotel with an AC, I expect the AC will be available. I know, I know... germans don't like AC, especially not in Spring, but other people do. My room was very, very warm, and even though the lady in the reception was sympathizing with my struggle, when I asked again on the second day, another lady told me that the central AC was just not "turned on yet" - so, if it was not broken, but it was an issue of planning, this should be explicit online. I had two horrible nights because the room was just too hot, and sleeping with the window open was a bit too loud. Other issues: the internet was definitely not great in the room (it worked perfectly in the communal rooms, but in my sleeping room, it was not strong enough even to download a WhatsApp photo), and the shower pressure was ok-ish. Considering the price, I was expecting more, I guess...

Room cleaning didn’t come next day. There were no towels in the room, I had to go to reception to take. No information how to call reception by room phone Not a convenient concept of breakfast room, eating on coach ☹️ , and poor breakfast options

Nice place to stay in Cologne

It's a cozy hotel on one of the central streets with lots of shopping places around. It has its own nice traditional "granny" flavor, and it is very much what distinguishes its hotel from others. A very nice museum-like breakfast room, very helpful staff and a clean room with large bathroom.
