Kyonoyado Gekkoan

My husband and I chose this ryokan to be our "luxury hotel" for our Japan trip and our only regret is not checking in sooner! This is a spacious, well-furnished suite where every detail has been considered to perfection! It is a "Qualified for Good Sleep" inn, meaning it has been through a very rigorous vetting to foster excellent sleep. My husband and I can both attest this is true! The hosts were very accommodating and very proud of their establishment. It was amazing to hear about the value of each artwork in the home! The kaiseki style breakfast was a little outside our normal fare but still impressive and delicious!

The property was fantastic. Lots of small details that the hosts, Shin and Shohei, pointed out that allowed us to appreciate them fully. The hosts met us on the day of our arrival and gave us recommends for the area, which were fantastic. They gave us new local snacks/treats every day as well. A wonderful stay.

An outstanding guest experience- my mother and I stayed here on the last night of our trip to Kyoto and were so impressed with this beautiful traditional property, along with the professional hospitality, and the incredible food. We were also treated to some delightful history from our property guide! The property itself is one of a kind. The level of care and attention to detail really made this a special stay for us. Mother daughter travelers and we had the loveliest time. Shohei went above and beyond making us feel welcome and taken care of. He’s incredible! We followed all his recommendations for the best dinner in Japan and the most fun activities and even where to go for our next stop! Thank you for everything.
