The location is fantastic, we found everything to be a 10 minute walk or less away and there were so many shops and places to eat on the doorstep. We extended our stay by another night because there was so much to do. The room itself is lovely, spacious, great shower pressure and comfortable beds. The hosts have great communication and the staff we met were lovely.
The noise. The walls are really thin and it's located above a restaurant/bar. Of the 3 nights 2 of them I didn't get to sleep until 2.30am and there was still a lot of noise from downstairs. Also, if you have a bad back like I do, there are a lot of stairs to climb to get to the room. This may be my fault for not reading the description properly.

Very friendly staff. Good to have a door bell to call someone who can come to help to get the key for a self-check in hotel, this is really a big relief for me. If we go to York again will definitely stay here again if they have suitable rooms.

Very central, good location.
Basic facilities, kettles and cups in rooms would be a good idea.
