A gorgeous little camping property. Really well layered out facilities and they had thought about everything. The pods are really comfortable and warm and even though I was technically in a dog-friendly pod there was absolutely no signs that dogs may have stayed there in the past - very clean and tidy! The bathrooms were a short walk away and were clean, tidy and heated. I stayed by myself and felt very safe.

The toilets, although far from the cabin, were very clean (and surprisingly warm! big bonus!) at time of visit, which admitedly was not very busy (end of January). However, expected an overall cozier vibe based on photos, which we did not find.
(we stayed at the Cabin, not in the pods)
The bed and pillows were not very comfortable, giving us both horrible back pain the day after. The throws and (although very kind and thoughtful of them) cover of hot water bottle was very dirty, almost brown instead of grey. The toilets were quite far from the camping site. There is no light during the night and it gets quite dark, feeling spooky. The cabin is smaller than it shows in the photos. There is no safe pathway for walking around the property. A big Tesco is only 5 minutes with Uber, however having a car/using taxis for this location is paramount, or you are avsolutely stuck!!!There was only one map of the area and campsite, in a place that was hard to see, and the map was misleading (it was showing access to nearby village though a ''gate'' which when we tried to access it turned out that there is no gate and there is an actually river at that spot). The electricity output is not enough to use more than one device at a time, which felt very limiting, as we were not able to charge our phones if we wanted to use any kind of heating. There is no microwave, fridge or any kind of cooking provision in the room, there is one in the communal ''Fridge shack''. The real problem though was the cold!! The room was freezing (understandable for that time of year) but none of the two heaters were working in the room. Despite multiple layers of clothing and covers, it was impossible to get warm. We did manage to speak with a lady on the phone, however felt quite disheartened by her disbelief. In the end, we were told that there is an alternative heater stored away and we were given a password over the phone that was not actualy the correct one. Overall, spent 2 days freezing and would not return or recommend it for cold months. Perhaps the other pods were warmer, although despite suggesting to move to one of them, this was not considered.

Clean and tidy, very well kept site. A little muddy but we did visit in December :) very welcoming atmosphere and definitely "a little hide" just like the description. Close to the park and ride which takes you into the centre of York but far enough away from the hustle and bustle to enjoy your own little bubble.

It was a really cosy pod and the bed was super comfy. It warmed up quickly and was a lovely quiet area whilst we were there. Parking was easy and close by and there were several instructions which made everything really clear. The facilities for the bathrooms were great too!
There was not enough lights in the pod - perhaps a larger lamp would be really helpful.

Compact. Warm. Cosy. Basic, but was nice to be without all mod cons and survive. 🤣. Beautiful surroundings, clean toilets and shower rooms. Bus service to York was great.
Nothing to dislike.

Nice location, cute, quiet area. Picturesque. Good heater. Great value for money
Very early check out (10am) and very late check in (3pm). Not very personable as no staff available and you have to pay for everything, nothing is given not even water in the rooms. It was also incredibly cold to begin with though the heater warmed it reasonably quickly. Toilets aren’t even on the same site, though aren’t too far away and reasonably clean.

Location was great, shower block was clean and the cabin was clean. Plenty of blankets and in the winter you'll need them. Site looked like it would be lovely in the daylight.
Considering this was more expensive than the standard clamping pod, it felt like it should have been much cheaper than the standard pod, it was literally a garden shed and in December was very cold with a draught blowing through the door as well as the tongue and groove walls. There were 2 heater which were not enough to take the chill off the room given the freezing conditions outside. We only booked the room for one night as a bed stop as we were arriving late and heading off early the next day so we were not expecting much. Needless to say even then at this time of year it fell far below our expectations. I could see it been a bit more attractive in the summer months but I would stop in a proper clamping pod if I can convince my partner to ever go back. A little insulation on the walls wouldn't have gone a miss and would have made all the difference. If anyone was to ask, I'd compare it exactly to sleeping in a wooden garden shed. Most of the night was spent sat a foot away from the heater trying to keep warm.

This is not a bad location if you still want access to the town centre. It's quiet, and clean,
Our little hut was cosy and enjoyable to chill.
Heaters were excellent to warm the place up.
Parking is good, ideal to keep the cars close for any additional items needed. and the
Staff were friendly, especially the cleaners.
Ideal for a couple wk end away if you want to relax.
I would like to return in the summer to also enjoy the communal fire pits and BBQ.
We did not eat in the cafe, but it looked decent from what we saw.
There are plenty of local taxis available if you don't want to drive and local bus stops just off site.
The toilets were a little far to walk in the middle of the night, however I was already aware toilets were not next to the huts.
The water taps on site did not work, and the showers were not good, Very little pressure and the water is either freezing or scorching.
But we still made the most of it, they were cleaned, with soap and toilet roll available. An additional plug socket would have been ideal, but we made it work.
Internet was hit and miss, but this may of just been where our hut was. Id recommend downloading music or movies prior to going.

It is what it is; bed with bedding, kettle, heater for a cheap rate
WiFi was poor; and you have to walk to a nearby block to use toilet or shower

Very nice location, with a lovely café nearby that serves absolutely massive portions. The area is quiet and peaceful, which made the stay even better. Overall, I really enjoyed my time there and would happily return.
I don’t have much to add here, it met my expectations for the price.

It was warm & dry. They are the only positives.
Had to park away from the pods & drag cases over gravel in the rain.
No towels - had to purchase online & they were to be put into a locker for collection. The code they gave didn't work & no one replied to my emails - so no shower for 2 days.
Water for the kettle was from a gritty outdoor sink away from the pods. All facilities shared with the caravan park which was a distance from the pods.

Really great everything you could need on site.
If you dont drive and are on foot, its a nightmare to get to the pub, shops, whilst you are dropped off at a bus stop just outside site, there is no footpath at all, I was walking a very long uncut grass verge for at least 15 minutes, till I reached the roundabout and then foot paths, my dog was struggling not at all fun for us, however the next day we knew of a forest walk that leads you through to Haxby, for this go beyond caravans on site till you reach a big gate that actually says private land. It isnt rest assured.

The Cabin was clean, tastefully decorated, a good size for two, and had a very comfortable bed with plenty of pillows/cushions. There were two heaters... a stove-type electric heater with flames that made the cabin feel very cosy, and an oil-filled radiator. Between them you could create a pleasant temperature, even on a chilly November night.
The toilet/shower block was clean, warm, and had plenty of space. There were also sufficient units to ensure you didn't have to queue.
Although we didn't use them as we only spent one night, there was a handy laundry and a fridge shack. Also, a fire pit area and BBQs that could be borrowed.
Obviously a loading issue, but if you wanted to boil a kettle you had to ensure the oil radiator was unplugged. Just a small inconvenience as it would've meant a phonecall if the electrics tripped.
There didn't appear to be a light outside of the cabin so it was very difficult to see when using the toilet block after dark.
There wasn't a lot to dislike to be honest. We expected it to be a midway point between camping and glamping, and that's exactly what it was.

Shared toilet and shower block, though this was clean and easy to get to even in the dark

It was a perfect spot for my husband, dog and I to stay for the night. It was easy to get there, the bed was very comfortable and it was exactly as expected. The toilets are separate and there are no towels but it's very clearly mentioned in the booking so we knew what we were going to. Perfect for a quick trip or even a few days if you're going to be out exploring most of the time.

Lovely and quiet, very comfy pod and bed. Good location to visit Castle Howard and York. Shower block was lovely and well maintained.
I hadn't read the emails properly so wasn't sure what to when I arrived as there isn';t a reception but that was entirely my fault! Simple once I'd read them

The location was very peaceful and quiet yet near shops
The actual privacy of the pod, our Pod Owl, was facing two other Pods so when sitting on the terrace no privacy. we did move the table and chairs to the back of the pod which was lovely

Great communication from the hosts ~ emails and messages ~ so we were able to find the key easily. Cute POD. Good fridge area, good toilet and shower block. Good lighting for those mid~night walks to the toilet.
I like a bathroom ensuite and maybe a little shop ~ but I knew what I was coming to.

Easy to locate, we were sent instructions helping us know where to park ect. Quiet area, not much noise so easy to relax. The bed was comfy and the pod was well insulated for all weather. Checking in and out was made easy. Toilets weren't that long of a walk and we're clean with plenty of toilet paper for the whole of our stay. We were sent emails leading up to our arrival to keep us informed of what was to come and what to do to check in and find our correct pod.
When we made the booking it was advertised that there would be a 'tea station' which would indicate the materials used to make tea. This was not the case unfortunately, we only got given a kettle, two mugs and an empty glass container which we had to fill with water. We wouldn't have minded these things not being provided if we were made aware before hand. The only bin we had was outside of our pod so if throwing anything away we had to walk outside, this was a tad inconvenient.
