DO NOT STAY HERE UNTIL THEY TURN THE HEATING ON.. AND POOL WILL NEVER BE WARM EXCEPT IN SUMMER

The property is beautiful, stunning. Location gorgeous. Staff were fabulous. Restaurant was excellent.

NO HEATING ON THE ENTIRE HOTEL AND POOL WASN'T HEATED. IT WAS COLD. ENDED UP WITH ELECTRIC HEATER IN THE ROOM.. IT IS NOT 5 STAR. THAT'S BASIC. INITIALLY STAFF SAID "SUSTAINABILITY" WHICH WAS A LIE. IT'S A SHOCKING, OLD HEATING SYSTEM THAT HAS TO BE TURNED FROM COLD TO HOT FOR THE ENTIRE HOTEL. POOL IS HEATED APPARENTLY BY SOLAR WHICH IS USELESS WHEN IT'S COLD AND IT HAS NO COVER. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. WE WERE FREEZING THE WHOLE TIME

Overrated Sub-Par hotel I’d never ever stay at again.

I have stayed all over the world in many different types of accommodations. I have no idea how this hotel is rated anywhere near exceptional. It is absolutely medium grade. Rooms are horrible, the pictures on the listing do not reflect what you receive even after going back and forth with the hotel before check-in I was completely dissatisfied with the room. It was uncomfortable, small tiny windows, no view, living room had two chairs and a hallway bench as a couch, no AC in the bathroom or bedroom, almost inaccessible “extra space” up these tiny steps, low doorways (constantly hitting my head). After check-in I went back to the front desk and explained the situation that the room was not to our liking. Cold, and sorry, but no! No changes no anything ect. We had reserved dinner reservations for ourselves and two other friends staying down the road at the restaurant on the property. Again, for 800-1000 dollars nothing was good, sub par, ok service but I could have gone to the street bars and found way better food and did for a quarter of the price. Not a good experience. Grounds are small in comparison of the pictures, pool unattended and not heated. I literally almost left and booked another hotel but was not able to cancel or move or anything. It was the worse part of our two week trip. The restaurant closed and left us basically in the dark, the front desk said we couldn’t have visitors in our rooms they couldn’t even get the coffee pods or creamer in the room correct and every morning I had to go downstairs to get the right coffee and creamer and they looked at me like I was the one that was crazy. Do not stay here unless you are absolutely clueless in the hotel world. I’m surprised it’s survived their acclaimed 25 years and personally would never suggest this hotel to anyone.

A real gem to relax

Toilets need to be added next to the pool area (no bathrooms for the pool area). the only bathroom available is inside the lobby of the hotel which is not practical. And a small detail to improve would be the shampoo and shower gel even though they smelled good.

5* luxury in the outskirts of Umbria

We stayed here during our 11-night road trip of Tuscany for our honeymoon, and we had a booking for two nights. The best thing about this hotel is the staff – they're exceptional and can't do enough for you. The facilities are beautiful and high quality, and we thoroughly enjoyed the spa massage we booked. It's a short drive away from Cortona which we'd recommend going to for a nice evening meal and stroll. We loved playing chess on the first floor of the Main Villa, and also watching the sunsets over the city of Cortona from the comfort of the estate grounds.

The rooms in the Main Villa are very noisy, so we asked to move over to an outhouse not long after check-in – bear this in mind if you're a light sleeper as we could hear everything from next door, such as loud talking and doors banging. We were much happier with our new room in the outbuilding. The prices are very high (€80 for two sandwiches and drinks by the pool at lunchtime), so be aware of this before booking – but we were happy with this throughout our stay as it was our honeymoon.

EVERYTHING !! Not only was it the most beautiful place my partner and I have ever been to, but the staff were all so nice, helpful and caring. I chose this destination to propose to my partner and it was like something out of a fairytale, I can not thank Villa Di Piazzano enough for everything !! Me didn’t want to leave and wish we could go back there and re live our stay all over again

Beautiful resort tucked away in Cortona! We thought it would be a great honeymoon spot but is more geared for families.

This hotel is so beautiful and serene. The grounds are immaculate and staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is an excellent spread!

We stayed for 3 nights at the start of our honeymoon. We were looking for somewhere peaceful and quiet. Unfortunately, there was a very loud family with teenagers at the pool who were yelling, jumping, and splashing all afternoon. This was the exact opposite of what we expected from this hotel. There are also quiet hours posted at the pool from 2-4 which were not respected and staff did not enforce this. This was the type of behaviour I would expect from guests at an all inclusive in Cancun and it was shocking to see that this was acceptable. We were disappointed this really ruined our stay as we had thought the resort was for adults/couples and were looking for a romantic getaway.

Most perfect boutique hotel

The most perfect and dreamy mini moon. We had the best and most relaxing time ever. Everything was 5*, from the room, the cleanliness, service and food (some of the best food we've had in Italy). It is the perfect boutique hotel.

Maybe pool service could be better and preferred the lunch menu over the dinner menu but they were accommodating in making what I wanted.

A perfect blend of elegance, charm, and comfort

Villa di Piazzano is a true gem in the Tuscan countryside. Everything about our stay was exceptional - from the peaceful setting and stunning grounds to the delicious, varied breakfast and the warm, attentive staff. The atmosphere exudes luxury and relaxation, with a beautiful pool perfect for escaping the summer heat. A special touch was the owner personally greeting us, showing us his vintage Alfa Romeo, and saying goodbye at check-out.

Lovely property, but few issues

Beautiful property, grounds and exceptional staff. Excellent breakfast.

For the price of the rooms, would want to see a few things different. - AC was not turned on during the stay though it was warm at night. Leaving windows open meant noise at night from guests checking in even at midnight. - Spotty WiFi in the rooms and on the grounds - Bed was not comfortable - on a less important note, the door was oddly difficult to lock

5 stars isn't enough for this hotel. It is simply exceptional. I spent my 30th birthday here and they made sure it was even more special than just being in the incredible accommodation. The attention to detail was second to none, every single staff member gave the best service and the property is to die for. This is by far the best accommodation I've ever stayed in for every single reason. I would come back in a heartbeat.

A little piece of heaven

Our stay at Villa di Piazzano was absolutely fantastic from start to finish and a real highlight of our honeymoon so far. All of the staff were faultless - incredibly friendly and attentive (but not overbearing), and the hotel itself is simply stunning. It is a little oasis with the most beautiful pool and evening sunsets, which can be enjoyed from the manicured gardens. Our room was large and comfortable, as well as being full of character, and the overall vibe of the whole hotel was one of relaxation. We particularly enjoyed the private wine tasting in the properties wine cellar; it was really informative and the wines chosen were absolutely lovely. The food in the restaurant was delicious and we will, without a doubt, be returning.

Nice staff, although not always and not everyone.

Very overrated and overpriced. Loud AC, the room starts to smell like wet rat if turned off in 10 minutes, and we had a suite. The toilet flush was broken. Once found a wet bidet towel sitting on my luggage after cleaning. I got all confused with the word "luxury" in the naming =\ The restaurant is very overpriced too. Had to return my food twice and a wine bottle once. It's like it was their first day cooking meat. Pastas are ok at best. Deserts are bad (source: my wife, a desert cheff).
