Everything about this hotel is really high quality and each and every member of hotel staff goes out of their way to make your stay comfortable. The location is excellent and the pool area gorgeous (be warned that the pool is not heated even in winter). The spa was incredible - really high end although treatments are not cheap, nevertheless it beat Champneys 10 times over.
Our room did not have a separate bathroom so the basin was in the room and the shower and toilet lead off from the room which isn't great for privacy although very tastefully laid out/designed.

I will definitely not come back here again and I do not recommend it to anyone. I believe that the standard is much lower than the price and 5*. I stayed in the hotel for a week. I didn't feel comfortable there. there is a lot of service in the hotel, in my opinion too much for a boutique hotel. in the dining room, the staff are standing and looking at you or into space. at the pool, when you are lying and sunbathing, the staff looks at you every time you pass by, it is not discreet. I was with my dog, but that doesn't mean that everyone has to approach it every time, because I wanted to have some privacy. the food is very average, everything is very fatty. There are no dishes with potatoes or rice on the menu, only fries full of fat. I love fries but these were one of the worst I've ever eaten. salad with shrimps is a mountain of lettuce and two sliced or even one shrimp on top... the steak, which is the most expensive on the menu, was so fatty that I felt sick even though I had cut the fat off to the side. the only good things were lasagna and eggs benedict. the water in the pool was ice cold, I didn't see a single person enter it for a week. the only advantage of this hotel is the nice swimming pool. but only from the picture because the pouffes on the deckchairs are so dirty... and it's the beginning of the season! 1-07 May. If you eat healthily, you will have a big problem with eating. I had a huge one. additionally, the hotel is for dogs and I was informed that the dog pees under the tree at the entrance to the hotel... after all, dogs pee under trees! I will point out that it is a small dog. I couldn't take him outside the hotel every 10 minutes... a really uncomfortable place. it was Easter and we couldn't eat dinner in the restaurant but had to order it to the room because there were guests from outside the hotel in the restaurant. why didn't anyone tell me about this? Can I buy something like this additionally? strange....
