Beautiful hotel in a quiet location but close to restaurants and beaches

Loved our quiet room and the view of the sea. The staff were welcoming and helpful and were always available to assist us when asked. The breakfast was delicious with a fabulous variety of foods and good coffee. There are many restaurants to visit just across the road!

The staff were amazing and really attentive. Super friendly and helped us with whatever we needed. The food at breakfast was very nice.

The pool was absolutely freezing. Given the cost it should be unheated as it didn’t get any sun so was very cold. the bathroom in the family room is small. It’s expensive so we expected more from the facilities.

Breakfast was a bit weak. The toilet brush container fell over and spilled nasty waster and solid waste that I had to clean up with toilet paper. It is better to mount it to the wall and have an insert that can be removed and cleaned from time to time.

Very mixed feelings about this hotel, not sure if we would stay there again. We gave the eight rating based on location,

We loved the location, and the common areas such as the bar, breakfast restaurant, and pool were very nice. Easy walking to the beach, restaurants, and public transport.

The room itself was very basic. No hooks on the walls or doors to hang coats or towels. Very bare and plain decor. Paper cups for making tea and coffee - no teabags supplied. The bathroom was incredibly small and awkward. The entire room needs some colour or even just a rug on the floor to make it a bit more comfortable. The sheets were too small for the bed! And kept coming untucked with the slightest movement. So all night we were wrestling with trying to get the sheets to lay flat. Even after the housekeeper changed them for us there was no improvement. It would be nice if the hotel actually had sheets that fitted their mattresses! The issue of beach towels was another interesting one. It’s not possible for international travelers to carry a beach towel in our suitcases. The hotel wanted to charge us €10 each for a beach towel and threatened guests with a €20 per towel washing fee if we took the hotel towels to the beach. Luckily we found a friendly nearby kiosk that sold Turkish towels. The hotel should consider supplying beach towels to guests at no extra cost considering what we were paying per night to stay there. We also thought it was a bit of a stretch being charged an extra $500 for an ocean view room and then being put on the third floor which wasn’t we really high enough to see much past the trees. Really dislike the fact that guests are allowed to smoke on their balconies, the smell of smoke drifts a long way, so this is not a nice thing for non-smokers.

Beautiful hotel with all the amenities.

My husband and I stayed here for a wedding. We got a free upgrade to a suite with a living room which was awesome. Location is close to the beach, lots of restaurants in the area. Nice pool. Great breakfast buffet.

I booked the night of 28/06 night and fully paid in advance, when I arrived around 11pm, the staff told me that there was no room for me, they shall transferred me to another hotel, which I had no idea where and how it would happen. I refused and left.

Great place to stay

Was very surprised and grateful when they upgraded us to 2 rooms in our accommodation. Also had a balcony that we had a great view. Close to a lot of restaurants. I have now been to a few times to this hotel.

Overall it was a very pleasant stay.

The hotel was very close to the sea front and several good restaurants along the sea front. However, I do object to the ‘climate catastrophe’ charge that was brought in by the Greek government. This charge makes it less likely for us to go to Greece in the future. This additional charge that was only brought in several months after I had booked the accommodation meant that I did not leave a tip for the staff.

I enjoyed my stay at Amarilia and would consider staying there again.

Amarilia is very close to the beach, yet very reasonably priced. The room was clean and well maintained. The staff are helpful and friendly. The reception staff always said hello with a smile each time I passed by the reception and were ready to answer any inquiry I made. I also liked that a variety of maps and booklets on what to do while in Athens, were freely available on a stand at the entrance.

The breakfast which is served buffet style, was good. However, the same breakfast items are served each day. I would have appreciated more variety.

We had a room with a very small bathroom. Difficult to actually close the door whilst standing in the bathroom. The breakfast was not great . There was no freshly cut fruit, no facilities to make toast, no pancakes, no porridge .

4-star staff, 3-star hotel

The staff was super nice and helpful. The room service was top and for a reasonable price. The room was cleaned often. There was a security box available.

I have contradictory feelings about Amarilia hotel. The staff was -- with no doubt -- giving a service expected for a 4-star hotel. However, the restaurant and the room was only 3-star. The breakfast had terrible instant coffee and many products were from the day before, the orange juice was not fresh but from the bottle. The room was small, with no couch/sofa, but the worst part is that the balcony has a view to an empty lot, NOT to the sea as expected from the pictures. In fact, you could just see the sea in between some trees. This is very disappointing considering that I paid extra to have a room with a direct sea view.

Very nice stay

The hotel deserves its 4 stars. Breakfast offers a greek yogurt corner paired with the standard international foods you'd expect from a 4 star hotel. Free beaches with public umbrellas (also free) are available just crossing the street. I did not try the divani beach and sunbeds but honestly I doubt it would have been wroth it. The general area has a few restaurants, but taxis (lots in the area or called using Uber) are cheap, so you can get to Glyfalda or Vouliagmeni spending about 5€. To get to the acropolis I paid 24€ and for the lake (worth the visit) something like 4€. The staff also offered me a superior room for no extra charge, and things like that do not happen so often anymore :) Pre-covid the hotel offered a sun towel to take to the beach for free, but I think for now they can't do it anymore. Other than that I can only say that it's for sure the best value for money in the area.
