The opportunity to stay in a converted Hamam with all it's attendant luxuries was very satisfying.

The location was superb and the in room sauna was fun. Our welcome was warm, friendly and helpful. Although no breakfast was provided there were cafes and restaurants in abundance in the Old City area. The outdoor courtyard attached to the apartment was very pleasant.

Parking is a huge problem in Rethymno! We arrived on a weekend and just managed to score a park well within walking distance. Being able to have base in the Old Town out weighed the inconvenience of driving around looking for a parking spot.

Utterly unique and special

It is soooooooooo cool to stay here. The owners have gone to lots of trouble restoring the building and it feels very special to have your own steam room! The location is perfect - right in the middle of the old town but quiet and calm. The supply of coffee pods, water, lots of towels, etc were all appreciated. We also appreciate the recommendations of where to eat - spot on!

Get rid of the robes - surely they only fit children. ;-)

A wonderful accommodation in beautiful Rethymno

This is a stunning place to stay. It’s right in the old town pedestrian area. The building is wonderfully restored and very roomy. It’s be perfect for a group of friends as there are some gorgeous communal areas.

What a pretty hotel, in a lovely location.

We had our own little apartment for an excellent price, with a beautifully hamam decorated bedroom with natural light from the velux window. It gave great ventilation and there was a fan and good aircon too. The bathroom was elegant and we tried out the Sauna as per our hosts instructions. The little kitchenette and sitting areas were modern and helpful and there was a large roof terrace to laze around on and have breakfast from the bakery around the corner. There was a useful clothes dryer on the terrace. Our host was very helpful and kind and the hotel is absolutely beautiful and in the old town centre. The filtered water was replaced daily, as were the bottled water, coffee pods and toiletries. Rethymo has wonderful vistas and museums and if you hop on and off of the tour bus you get to visit places away from the town too,

the bathroom doesn't have a window so it is best to leave the door open when not in use.

Beautiful and authentic feel, great facilities and spotlessly clean. Lovely views and location. It was very hot when we arrived. The aircon and fan performed well. The man who welcomed us couldn’t do enough to help and was very genuine. I can’t think of a fault. Well done and thanks!

Really very central and free parking nearby which was very convenient. Michalis was great, really helpful with great recommendations for restaurants. Not having breakfast meant we were able to enjoy some of the great cafes.

Haman Oriental Suites...Suite Cyclamen

This first floor deluxe dome suite was amazing and so unique! It was way beyond our expectations! Nothing like we have ever stayed in before in all of our travels. The hosts were very friendly and helpful in explaining all of the amenities available in the room ... like the sauna (which we definitely used!) and gave us helpful hints as to where we should eat, see the sites and shop, etc.!! We give this hotel/suite a 10 plus and highly recommend it to everyone who would want to experience a very different, breathtaking, and relaxing stay while visiting Rethymno, Crete.

Bring a sleep mask if you're in the suite with the dome if you want to sleep in because it gets a little light come in from the holes in the dome above but honestly it wasn't a big deal at all!

A rare gem in the middle of thr beautiful old town of Rethymno!

This hotel is a rare gem hidden in the old town of Rethymno. Walking into our deluxe suite with Hammam with its beautiful furniture and decor and our own private steam room, took us back in time and was absolutely magical! The domed ceiling had small skylight that looked like stars and the solid walls provided such peace even though we were right in the middle of the town. The amenities included what was needed for coffee and tea, bathrobes and slippers and sandals and peshtemal towels for the steam room. Our host, Michalis, was a true gracious gentleman, very knowledgeable and so very helpful (efcharisto, Michalis for everything!). We would rate this hotel 20/10 if we could and we would definitely stay here again!

Rooms were wonderful and we have stayed a number of times here. Each room is unique and redefines boutique hotels in general. The décor is put together with flair and meticulous taste. Facilities are excellent, sadly there was not breakfast option when we have stayed but due to the central location this doesn't present any issues.

Nothing apart from breakfast, this would then have been perfect. we did have a bit of a leaky coffee machine but this was sorted out quickly. But these are trivial

Heavenly Hamam

Every attention to restore and evoke authentic historical detail has been made here. The experience of staying in the hamam room was quite extraordinary, utterly romantic and very comfortable. The attached hamam was glorious! Our host was extremely kind and went above and beyond to help us find our way and settle in. Don’t miss this if you have a chance to stay - highly recommended.

A wonderfully relaxing stay in unique rooms with a luxurious private hamam!

Friendly and attentive host, beautiful and unique room (Suite Nr. 2) with luxurious private hamam (wonderfully relaxing!). Perfect location near many restaurants and shops but still quiet at night. Very short walk to the old venetian harbor. Though there is no immediate parking availabe we left our rental car at a reasonably priced parking garage nearby.

We loved our stay to the hotel, and the hammam was an exceptional-unique experience. I would totally rebook the same hotel. Also the room was well lit many different combinations of light sources creating a romantic environment, spacious and fully equipped with the necessary items (it even had iron!).

Some smell of humidity which was expected with all this steam coming out of the hammam room. So nothing to worry about or to complain. Stuff was helpful and the whole experience amazing.

what an amazing room

Everything. From the welcome at the front door, the first ‘wow’ look at the room, the hot steamy Hamman, the comfortable bed, the roof lights and general lighting, to the specially chosen furniture to compliment the room. We only booked for one night thinking the room would be very quirky and possibly too overpowering for a longer stay. We were wrong, we loved the room and are looking to stay again. The hotel is centrally situated in the old town, easy, level walking mostly on traffic free small streets. No parking anywhere in the old town, but car parks for the Forteza are only a short walk away from the hotel.

We didn’t find anything to dislike.

I was travelled with a friend, the room was very big and clean. Inside it had hamam that you can use for free. The Hotel was less than 5 minutes by foot to the cafe and the lighthouse. It was beautiful.

Fabulous atmosphere in a historical yet modern place!

Brilliant 2bedroom suite with antique furniture but all mod-cons, i. e. a Hammam-like shower and a great jacuzzi on the beautifully designed terrace overlooking the dome of the original 16th century Hammam. The owner’s son, Michailis did everything he could to make sure we are fine. Even the room scent is designed specifically to complete the Hammam historical yet modern atmosphere. Would love to go back already.
