Loved the location of the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The old town was beautiful.

Location was perfect for exploring the old town but it was also good for the beach and near the bus station for exploring further.

The bar around the corner plays loud music till early hours Thursday, Friday and Saturday with lots of people hanging around talking afterwards. There was a window in the room door which lets light in all night.

Fabulous.

We loved stayed in the old Veneto Hotel. Both the hotel and the room were beautiful. The reception staff were exceptionally helpful in terms of advice relating to local activities.

I think our only grumble, since we hadn't expected it, was having to haul our suitcases from the bus station (we arrived by bus from Heraklion). We had planned to hail a taxi, but Rethymnon oldtown is only walkable. But we managed, and it was totally worth it.

They should have told us there was a steep spiral stairway up to the bed and bad communication with the staff

The location and the building itself.

They should’ve told us before we booked that the room had a steep and high spiral staircase going up to the bed which was inconvenient to say the least. It was completely overpriced. The building is ancient and lovely, but the rooms are aged and completely overpriced for what they are.

A great value for a.short stay

It’s location in old town. Just be aware not to have much luggage due its location. Very quiet and surrounded by old buildings, shops, and restaurant. The breakfast excellent and the staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming.

The shower needs a non-slip mat. The shower head needed to be replace it was not clean. The extension shower head was the same the hose old and rusty look. Simple fixes.

Central cute accommodation

The property is super central, and quite well decorated. The staff was very curteous and nice.

The bed was not very comfortable, and the breakfast on the average spectrum. I would have expected from a boutique hotel given the amount paid. Value for money was definitely not the strong point of the stay.

Central location in Rethymnon with its inconvenience

Spacious room, very good breakfast

Very poor night’s sleep. The room faced the street with the hotel’s restaurant terrace directly below, creating constant noise. The other side faced the interior courtyard with the indoor restaurant, also loud past midnight. No shutters or blackout curtains, so streetlight entered all night. No parking which is not a problem itself, however worth noting that nearby parkings charge more than 50€ per day

Great hotel in the heart of old town Rethymon

Set in the old town this hotel is the perfect location for wandering the lanes. With so many great restaurants to choose from and beautiful boutique shops, it’s perfect for those that want to stay in the heart of Rethymon.

There’s nothing not to like however, if you not very mobile I would check that it’s possible to have a room on a low floor as there is no lift.

Great location, great and very helpful staff, very good breakfast, nice ancient yard, nice public areas, nice size of the room, but...

The room itself was really dated and austere, with no charm or a feel of comfort whatsoever. It was poorly lit, with old and only partially functioning equipment. Helena from reception did her best to assist and brought some more lamps, and took care of the malfunctioning equipment, but this, of course, couldn't help with the austerity of the room. Pitty. This place could be really wonderful if some updating would be done.

Ancient meet Modern style

This place is insanely great. The room in which we where was incredible. Very well decorated with an ancient meet modern vibes. It exceeded our expectation. The restaurant looked really great but unfortunately we didn't try the food because our stay coincided with when it was close. It really is an exceptional place right in the old town. Great and welcoming staff as well. Do not hesitate.

Beautiful old venetian building in a great location. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the service is great. Feels like a family business.

We had some WiFi issues during the entire stay, that couldn't be fixed. Also the fridge in the room was very noisy unfortunately.

Great place for the money!

Location is super convenient, surrounded by coffee shops and restaurants . The hotel is really nice, love architecture! The staff is awesome, especially Eleanor! She told us many great places to visit! Thank you for being so sweet!

A 600 year old monastery loving refurbished to a high standard. Excellent old town location.

The location is terrific. The interior design is thoughtful and appealing with great respect to the age of the building. The staff could not have been more efficient and helpful. The owner is a most accomplished host who appears to have put an enormous effort into creating this traditional Greek style accommodation.

The Hotel is in a overcrowded Old Town. Finding the nearest parking is an adventure. But once that was done, you quickly get used to not being able to park in Hotel.

The hotel is very pretty and has its charm. In particular I appreciated the excellent service and hospitality, Manos from the reception was very helpful with creating my plan each day. Good location. Breakfast was fine. 12:00 checkout is very generous and comfortable.

The room is outdated and needs to be updated. For example, there are no available outlets to plug in a phone by the bed but there are a landline phone and plugs for a computer internet line, both irrelevant at this time. It’s absolutely possible to maintain the historic charm but include modern conveniences.

Accommodation is stunning. We were given the history when we arrived and were so happy to be staying in such an amazing character filled hotel. Rooms were large and clean. Beautiful outdoor courtyard. Breakfast options were great, everything was above expectations, and staff were so helpful. Definitely would stay here again. Highly Recommended.

A stylish hotel right in the middle of the old city of Rethymno. Our standard room was comfortable and of a very generous size with a seating area. Breakfast was of a good standard with lots of variety.

It is strongly suspected that smoking had previously occurred in the bedroom, which was stated to be non-smoking. There were no reminders in the bedrooms that it was "No Smoking" and no sign of a smoke alarm in the room which would have allowed the hotel to police this.
