Location, cleanliness and lovely big room with bathroom

Nothing really -my only thing would be there are a couple flights of stairs which is normal for Sicily but remember you have to carry your bags up and down

We really enjoyed having our home base at this apartment in Ortigia. Super central location and had every facility we needed. Huge thanks to the lady that works there, who made our stay so comfortable and for serving a perfect breakfast for us. We left very satisfied, feeling great value. Would love to come back one day.

Location was fine—two minutes walk to Duomo. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Can be a bit noisy on weekend nights, but we assume it would be better during the week.

Liked the excellent staff a lot. Location would have been rated great (100 meters off of lovely and central Piazza Artemide) but had to walk through a garbage strewn street to get to hotel courtyard location (the restaurant next store also keeps their garbage cans next to hotel stairs but fenced off). Maybe bad timing of season but we ran into lots of flies to get through before reaching the super clean hotel itself. So this is not the owner’s fault, but outside approach to hotel was a problem. The staff tried impressively hard to be helpful, and our room and bathroom were just fine.

See answer above - while hotel was super clean, surrounding environment was garbage and fly filled. Breakfast was ok but not what it used to be when we last stayed 6-7 yrs ago, despite lovely caretaker trying very hard to satisfy breakfast preferences.
