The location was great, walkable to Lago di Braies. The staff were friendly, the included breakfast was tasty and had a lot of variety. The room was clean and comfortable and the price was reasonable.

Great stay near Lake Braies

From the moment we arrived, we felt very welcome. Our room was clean and comfortable. Although it faced the road leading to Lake Braies, the noise wasn't much of a bother. There was a wide selection of breakfast options available at the buffet. We also dined at the hotel restaurant, which we can definitely recommend—especially the beef! The parking area is spacious and can easily accommodate many cars. The highlight of this place is its location right next to the trail leading to Lake Braies. It’s about a 30-minute walk and offers a much less crowded experience. Overall, we had a great stay.

The orange juice at breakfast could use a little more orange in it, but that’s just a minor flaw.

Great location and staff

A great location for us to recharge before starting our Alta Via 1 hike the next morning – only a 30min walk through the lovely forest into Lago di Braise. Dinner served at the restaurant was yum. Breakfast was grand. They were nice enough to open the breakfast bar a little earlier for us so we could set off early. Super friendly and helpful staff.

No plugs near the bed, there was only one by the rooms door and one in the bathroom.

Nice middle-of-the road pension within a mile of Braies Lake

We had a comfortable triple room with a balcony and comfortable lounge chairs although it was too chilly to sit out even in July. We were close to the road with a lot of traffic but only a mile to Braies Lake. Breakfast was good with a pleasant staff. We could order dinner from the menu in a pub atmosphere. Guests sit at their assigned table for all meals. Parking was easy.

Closed on Thursdays for dinner. After trying many restaurants that only serve their own guests, we finally found the more upscale Edelweiss Hotel which had a few tables for the public. Other choices recommended to us by the staff involved driving back to the main road to other towns 15-20 minutes away.

Worth every penny

We liked everything from breakfast and dinner, the hospitality and also the location is nearby Lake Braies. Sandra gave us information about public transportation during the public holiday. The bed is super comfortable. The Forelle and Pragser Käse are very yummy and must try 🫶

Location is perfect. Staff was extremely kind and left the keys for us at the reception even though we checked in very late. Price for the room was decent compared to other hotels around. All in all great choice would recommend

A nice hotel convenient for visiting the beautiful lake nearby.

The hotel was nice and provided a good breakfast. Evening meals in the restaurant were also very nice. Our room was a little on the small side but otherwise was o.k. A pleasant 30 minute walk through the woods to get to the lake which is the main attraction here. There are other longer walks for those wanting to explore further which we enjoyed.

superb location and value for money

The place is perfectly situated near Lago di Braies. I love how quiet and calm the place is, and the staff is charming despite we are not conversing in English, we understand each other. I have low expectation coming to this place but it far exceeded when it comes to breakfast, comfortable bed, service and value for money. Also, its just a few mins away from a nearby grocery. I super love the nice view from terrace and hassle-free parking just beside the hotel. Everything went smoothly from check-in to check-out, it was worth the long drive from Venice. I would highly recommend this place.

decent for a short stay

The location was great and super close to the Lake Braies

i didn’t like how they managed my booking. asked to add one more bed as we were 3 people. ended up to sleep 3 people in one double bed. i had to call the property at 2 am for instruction on how to enter the property. No customer service at all.

Very close to lago brais. Walking distance. The bed was comfortable and breakfast was nice. 2 receptionists were very communicative and kind.

Mold in the bathroom and in the shower. The heating doesn't work. No elevator.

Beds were too soft (squishy), due to the thunderstorm there was no power one night (this was swiftly solved). Breakfast could have more fresh fruit and varieties. Coffee could be served automatically rather than having to order it every single time (it seems unpractical).

Fantastic hospitality and food!

Wow! What to say about Steinerhof!! Just an amazing, family run business with the nicest staff you are likely to meet in the Dolomites. We were treated so well and the brothers Florian and Matteo (I think that's their names) really went out of their way to help my friend with a situation with her bags, which we greatly appreciated! The food is worth a mention too, absolutely delicious and probably the best we had on our 4 day hike through the park, the pasta with deer ragu was to die for!! The room was also great, comfy bed, very spacious, and a lovely little balcony with mountain views, what more could you ask for! Highly recommend staying here, I will definitely be going back in the near future. Thanks again for everything 🙏🏼

Great staff, average accommodation

I enjoyed interacting with the staff, they were helpful and kind and spoke great English. I got sick during my stay, so i preferred to have dinner in the room, which they were so kind as to allow me to have the food brought to me. I also enjoyed how clean it was and the balcony was nice and spacious. The breakfast options are alright if you don't have a particular diet, but you can ask for eggs from the lady tending to the breakfast service and she will get one for you. Also, the food at their restaurant is pretty good. We ate there every evening (out of convenience as well, cause there isn't a bunch of options there) and it was always nice.

My room was facing the back of the building, which faced a river, which is a lovely sound to sleep to. However, next to the hotel and underneath our window, there is a sort of parking garage for the local buses. In the morning, starting 7 am, there is a lot of noise coming from these buses and in the evening, when they end the day, it's the same. I could also have used a stronger hair dryer - the one they have in the bathroom is very weak and it was difficult for me to fully dry my hair, not to mention that i have short hair. Can't imagine a lady with long hair using that...

Very nice staff! Great place to stay for 1 or 2 nights, there is a forest road right by the hotel, its 40 minutes to Lago di Braies on foot. No problem with parking, great breakfast.

Exceptional

The hotel is very sweet and has a great location. The trail to lago di Braies starts right behind it, so it is not even necessary to go by car. It takes only 15 mins to get there. There is a bus stop right in front and that will take you to the Lago as well. Breakfasts are buffet, you can order also half pension or just any meal at the restaurant. They have their own fish. It is family hotel, so it is run by the family. All of them are super nice and always try to help. Both brothers speak also fluent english, so it is not problem to communicate.

Only one small thing, the bathroom is super small and there are electric plugs missing to charge your phone above the night stands.

A wonderful stay close to Lago di Braies!

Breakfast was great, the room with the balcony is spacious, clean and quiet. The Hotel restaurant is very good with a good selection on the menu of local food. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is in a very quiet and beatiful place, 5 minutes by car and 20 min walking from Lago di Braies. The staff is super nice and always giving good advices about activites in the area. The food served in the restaurant is good and with generous portions to recover forces after trekking!

The pillows could be a bit more comfortables.
