The room and the bathroom were dirty. Moreover, unless the checkout was at 10, they started to ring at the door at 9:30 many times.

The staff is always kind and pleasant. Bathrooms are quite cool and clean. Good lockers. Very nice terrace.
Sometimes it's full of strange people)) Snoring kills me)

The only positive side is the location (about a 10-minute walk from the city centre) and the staff, who were kind and polite.
First of all, I understand that some hostels can be more or less comfortable. I’m not a first-time traveller, and I’m usually patient, but these facilities really shouldn’t be rented before some improvements are made.
I booked a private room for two people. “Private” is questionable — you have to pass through a shared room with several beds to reach it. While some rooms are separated by doors, this one only had a curtain. I can only imagine how uncomfortable other guests might feel.
The private room itself has a wide bed and a wardrobe, which is fine, but there’s hardly any space left to move around.
Another serious issue is security — the rooms don’t have keys, and when you ask for one, the staff simply say they don’t know where it is.
The bathroom is in poor condition — no shelves, no toilet paper, not even hand soap. While showering, the water floods the entire floor, and there’s no place to put your clean towel, unless you want to leave it on the toilet seat!!!
Reception is located on the 5th floor, while the rooms are on the 1st. There’s no elevator because the building is old, so be prepared to carry your luggage up several flights of stairs. If you’re travelling alone, you’ll need some stamina! :)

Gold sized room and was clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. Great location as is only a 15 Minute Walk to the Knez Milhailova Street and from there it is a Short Walk to the fortress. The Room had an area for preparing Snacks and Drinks aswell as a fridge.
Lots of steps to the 5th floor where the Check in is and no Lift. No 24 Hour Service desk but the staff did help us with all our questions.

It's well located. The terrace is the best spot.
The room is comfy and there are lockers.
There is a place where you can work next to the terrace. (The internet is good)
The share kitchen is tiny but is good.
The staff was helpful and professionals.
The vibe of the hostel is chill.
It worth for the price.

…
Warning: My original 3-star rating was a generous assessment of a basic but flawed hostel. However, the host's aggressive, biased, and unhinged response to that feedback reveals the true nature of this establishment: it is a dangerous place that must be avoided.
My initial review honestly described the filthy bathrooms and unclean bedding. The host's reply was not a defense or an apology; it was a tirade of insults and threats. This response is the most important part of my review, as it proves the host is volatile, unprofessional, and poses a direct risk to the safety and well-being of any guest.
Host's Behavior is the Core Problem: A host who reacts to fair criticism with such hostility is incapable of managing a safe environment. This behavior is a red flag that cannot be ignored.
Do not be fooled by the low price. My 3-star review was a caution; the host's response is the confirmation. This is not a place to save money; it is a place to avoid for your own safety. There is no excuse for this combination of filth and aggression.

Neccesities are easily accesible, clean and useful.Staff is nice. You may have shared space in terms of your kitchen and bathroom but that places also makes you meet new people which is nice.
Bathroom and kitchen fans are so loud, other than that the building which the hostel is located is also a residency so there is local people living in the building at all times, so if you are loud and loce partying it may be bad for you but as a solo traveler who is just using the hostel for bed and shower it would not bother if you are chill.

What I had expected, I didn’t receive. It seemed like there should be an Asian staff member working there, maybe Bangladeshi. When guests arrive, they prepare the bed afterward, but it wasn’t cleaned properly — just made to look like it was.
It was a hostel only by name — there was no proper management. In Serbia, most hostels are just “hostels” by name, but they don’t feel safe for guests. At this hostel, I felt like there were some suspicious or shady activities going on. Personally, I didn’t feel this hostel was very safe.

Apart from the location was decent, nothing at all.
After checking in, I was taken to my bed, it looked like it has been occupied by someone else already, where there were some clothes on the bed, and the staff didn't look happy. He took the clothes off the bed and threw it onto the floor, and said that would be where I was staying. I asked if the bedding was clean, he told me no one was sleeping there the night before, and he just walked off. However, I developed a rash during the night of sleeping in that bed, it has been over 7 weeks since and I still have the rash.
The room I was staying in was a tiny room with with 3 bunk beds (i.e. 6 beds) right next to the reception, which was definitely not sound proof, so all activities happening at the reception, which is also the main entrance, and corridor access to the toilets and kitchen can all be heard clearly. The staff working at night was at the reception until after mid-night, and he was on the phone until after mid-night too, and have been chatting on the phone for way over an hour. Since the room was not sound proof at all, it felt like he was actually in the room talking on the phone, and very loudly!
There was no curtain in the room, and the window was facing the bathroom window, and also next to the reception/hallway window, with all those windows being so close, whenever someone turns on the light in the hallway or bathroom, which happened to be quite regularly throughout the night, the light shone through from the large window in the bedroom, as if someone had a bright torch on shining into our room. Similar thing happens when people turn on the light in the hallway, the bedroom still got very bright.
At the hostel, there was only 1 bathroom and 1 toilet. The bathroom has a shower as well as a toilet, but the toilet is just a toilet. From what I could see, there were 2 dorms, with up to 12 people. I wanted to take a shower before bed on the arrival day after a long day of travel, but I was unable to, as the bathroom was always occupied by someone.

Downtown Inn Hostel rocks! Perfectly located in Belgrade's heart with epic views from the rooftop terrace. They've got fast Wi-Fi, cozy rooms, and cool staff 24/7. Free walking tours, cheap van trips, and loads of fun. No curfew, no worries. Five floors up, but totally worth the adventure! Explore Belgrade like a boss!

Very nice, clean and well organized place with friendly staff ready to help at any occasion.
Good facilities, a comfortable shared terrace and fully equipped kitchen. Can definitely recommend it.

The facility was clean. The residents -other customers- all seemed like good and respectful people. It was 20 min away from the city center but the buildings in the neighborhood were leaking a mystery liquid.
The WiFi had went out went I came to the hostel. So, it took some time for the staff to find my room. It took even longer to have my payment. And even longer to have my receipt. The owner had a weird attitude towards both me and her staff. I won't be staying here again. But hey, at least it was only 1800 dinar per night.

Good location. The hostel owner was friendly and helpful. The other guests in the room were respectful people.
The first imression of the hostel for me, wasn't nice; When I entered the hostel, I introduced myself and said that I had reservation for two nights, to the black haired personel who was on the reception desk. He only said "Sit!" and kept playing with his cell phone. Thankfully, the other personel wasn't as strange as him. He did my check in and showed my room and the other part of the hostel.

great location, close to transport and points of interest. Atmosphere of a friends' house, ideal for interacting and making friends
4 or 5 floors by stairs without elevator. It is important to alert guests that there is no lift in the building, as we have heavy luggage to carry

The guy who check me in was super nice and the room on the second floor was small but ok for a night.
Jesus well the biggest issue was the tiny woman living behind the curtain on the second floor. There's a few bunk beds there and adjacent to the kitchen was the room I had. I came back after being in the city and the entire room was filled with cigarette smoke. I placed some food I bought in a bag in the fridge. I was then sitting at the kitchen table and she was clearly drunk off her head and started going into the bag and I asked her what she was doing and she apologized and sort of stumbled away. I woke up in the morning and a protein drink I had purchased was half drank. Pretty clear it was her because there was nobody else in there just her and I. She kind of hides behind her curtain all day I guess and watches her subtitled programs on the computer monitor she has set up. Overall I'd avoid the entire place just because of the little gremlin lady.
