Would visit again. We like the old style hotels with a modern twist.
Lovely, shame it rained so we couldn’t appreciate the grounds it was in.
All good.
Beds a little uncomfortable.

Lovely historic hotel a few miles off the M5
Lovely historic hotel. Beautifully presented. Comfy bar area with sofas, open fire and tasty snacks.
We stayed twice - once in the house and once in converted stable. Both were really keenly priced compared to the normal tariff and so were exceptional value. Very nice hotel.
Staying in a building across the car park from the main house in November.

Was okay, doubt we’ll return
A grand old property that’s very tired in places & needs refreshing
Breakfast chef couldn’t get a poached egg right! & the waitress trying to pass it off as ‘quite runny’, poor show, just don’t need that hassle first thing in the morning.

Good but a bit tired. Bathroom (although refurbed) had poor finishes and practical considerations.
Location of hotel (set back from the road)
Front lounge with fire
Rear facing room with large bed
Bathroom shower tray very slippery (no grip on tray and no bath mat). Also no grab handle.
Shower head (had held) attached to the post - difficult to use as locked in that placement,
Hard to use shower when not wanting to get hair wet
Nowhere to put toiletries in shower.
Bathroom lighting very poor.

Slightly disappointed
Hotel was understaffed. Receptionist was rarely at the desk as she was running around sorting everything from food issues to bar and disgruntled visitors.
The heating in the rooms was cold, decoration dated, couldnt fit us in for supper one night and the newer part of the house was very tired.

Good business stay
Location was good
Too many people at breakfast so difficult to get the food you wanted.

Overall our stay was very pleasant. A beautiful area. We would definately stay here again.
Amazing property and facilities. Our room was excellent. A little out of the way from the main hotel, but we quite liked that. And the entrance courtyard was very pleasant.
Convenient parking.
Stylish bar and lounge area.
Great atmosphere and stylish décor.
I cannot fault the cleanliness of the room and bathroom. Great extras in the room, from water to toiletries and tea/coffee items. Lots of lovely little touches throughout the room. The bed and bedding were very comfortable. Dressing gown and slippers also a lovely touch.
We ate in the restaurant in the evening, and both the food and service were of an excellent, high standard. The steak was amazing. Lovely little walkway to the room as well.
Friendly, professional, and helpful staff.
Would happily return and recommend.
I leave these negatives as advice to the hotel rather than a complaint...
Initially, our room seemed quite out of the way and difficult to find. We found ourselves walking in and out of the wrong corridors and outside areas. It could be a little better signposted.
On entering the room the first thing to hit us was the insane heat temperature!!! All radiators turned on to full potential and the room was far too hot... We had the windows wide open whist getting ready!
I believe our room was recently refurbished, but there are some finishing touches missing: a full-length mirror—there’s plenty of space for one in the bathroom or the spacious hallway—and a makeup/hair mirror at the dressing table. The current mirror is in the wrong place, positioned on the left-hand wall and far too high.
The dressing table also has the tea/coffee items on it, so there’s not much room to put makeup, a hairdryer, etc. The room is quite near the road, so if the bedroom door to the hallway is open, you can hear a lot of traffic noise, which can’t really be helped. Unfortunately, on the night we stayed, there were roadworks through the night.
The steps to the room are metal and steep. It was very wet on our arrival day, and the steps were quite slippery and lethal, especially when carrying luggage up. I had the same issue going down them in the evening in high heels. There was also nowhere near enough lighting on the steps in the dark..... Be aware of this if booking this room as could be a major problem for some.

Countryside stay
Beautiful room with facilities. Really felt like I was in the countryside. Stunning room
The restaurant didn't quite have enough space for all guests. So we waited a while. And we didn't have everything available. And then unfortunately our order got lost. However, the host was very apologetic and asked us what we wanted and tried it source it.

Lovely hotel
Room wasn’t in the main building was in a nearby building called little court which has recently been renovated was very clean and tidy.
We asked at main building for coffee sugar and toilet roll was told someone would bring over but never arrived.car park could be better lit at night.

A mixed experience
This hotel is very impressive in terms of its appearance, both outside and in, with a comfortable lounge and bar area, and lovely gardens. Our room, although quite small, was comfortable and clean. All the staff we had dealings with were very nice.
Firstly, let me say that I am not a serial complainer and looking at the recent reviews it would appear that we were unlucky with our stay. On entering our bedroom, we noticed that there was only one set of towels. We tried to phone down to reception but the phone line was completely dead. I only mention this because it struck me as a potential hazard in case of an emergency, such as illness or a fire. We booked a table for dinner as the menu looked really nice, including venison haunch which is my favourite. We ordered at a little after 8 pm. Our meals arrived at 8.45 pm. My venison was cold and rather more raw than the "blush" I had been promised. In contrast, my husband's meal had clearly been microwaved, although the accompanying peas were cold. I send mine back to the kitchen and it was "flashed under the grill", but remained inedible. I ate the now rather crispy potatoes. My husband was unimpressed with his lamb shepherd's pie, saying it was tasteless. We were offered a replacement meal, but as it was now rather late and we were doubtful of what might be provided, we opted for cheese and biscuits. On piece of cheese, I would estimate at around 30g, with three biscuits and a side of chutney, was £4.00. It didn't go far. However, the mains were deducted from our bill, although the cheese was not! There was a function in the room below, so I sympathise with the kitchen staff, but apart from preparing the venison, our meals should have been quick and easy to serve, and certainly not take 45 minutes. The next morning we had breakfast which was very nice, although again service was somewhat slow and the person on the next table sent his back as it was cold. I am fully aware that hospitality is a difficult business and cannot fault the front of house staff who were very apologetic and couldn't have been nicer.

Love it
I like that it still look traditional. And it has a big garden where kids can play and for adults to relax . In my room we had an amazing view .

We loved everything about the hotel

Beautiful, scenic and pleasant
Beautiful building and location, easy to find, lots of parking, mostly quiet, stunning views and lots of cows around! (Not on hotel grounds), there’s a river around the back and lots of footpaths to get you to different areas
The hotels restaurant let us down on the first night so we didn’t return there which was a shame. Also a bit of noise around 12-1am which was quite loud annoyingly, sounded like heavy furniture being moved around which shouldn’t be done at that time.

Comfortable, with welcoming staff, an interesting building and local area. Shame it was a short stay
We were only staying the one night after attending a wedding nearby so arrived at the hotel after 1.00am and checked out by 11.00am the same morning! This was a shame as I'm sure we would have enjoyed more of the hotel otherwise.
It was a long up and down stairs walk to our room at 1.00 in the morning!

A very nice place to stay during our walk along the cotswold Way
Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere, nice architecture, comfortable room (in an annex opened last year).

Disappointed.
Staff were lovely. Nice restaurant. Nice grounds
Room 27, both window panes cracked. Bathroom door wouldn't close. Maintenance obviously don't have a spirit level, most things wonky....tv, wardrobe, bedside lamp, bathroom radiator, door handles etc etc. Ran out of continental breakfast items eg white bread, pastries, croissants, orange juice etc. No crockery . Staff very busy , unable to cope with a full breakfast restaurant . Expected a lot more for £190 a night. Not the birthday treat I expected for my wife.

Great room!
The outside grounds and the manor deluxe room were stunning. Almost every member of staff was kind and helpful. The blond lady who ran the restaurant provided excellent service.
Either the menu is too complicated or the chefs aren't experienced enough. I feel a more simple menu would help with food quality.

Very disappointed with our weekend in a lovely hotel
The main house and grounds were lovely. The open fire made us feel very cosy. A good location and comfortable room with lovely view.
The garden view was obscured by a very dirty window. The heating came on for half an hour in the morning and evening making the room very cold the rest of the time, also air in radiator made it noisy and half cold even when on. Had to wait a very long time for hot water. A leak in shower caused the bathroom floor to be very wet and slippery. The restaurant food was very over priced.

Brilliant hotel with friendly staff. We would stay again.
The breakfast was a standout - i liked the buffet but also that you could order hot food to the table. We stayed in the stables so we were very pleased with the standard of the room.
There was no fridge in the room.

It was all fine.

Very disappointing after poor service and food
Good shower Nice size room , good shower but only a standard bed.
Far too expensive for what we got .
Long walk to bedrooms involving lots of stairs.
Dinner a disaster.
Unfortunately we were there at the same time as two groups and this meant we had to wait an extremely long time for our food , half an hour before ordering and over an hour after ordering ! The food when it finally arrived was really not good. The hamburger was burnt and the chicken very small over cooked and dry. Green salad just consisted of pea sprouts!
So ate little.
We did complain and we did get an apology and were not charged for dinner but very disappointing.
We had to wait again the following morning, nearly 45minutes after ordering , for the cooked breakfast .
We had considered staying two nights but obviously changed our minds.

We had one evening meal and felt it did not offer value for money. We have eaten at many restaurants all around the wor
Atmosphere - period property set in beautiful grounds with trees.
Stairs could have been a problem for me I had not travelled with my husband.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff were wonderful and the setting and grounds were perfect.
First evening's dinner was superb. The next two evening meals were disappointing in comparison.
There is a step down into the bathroom and, whilst there is a sign on the door to warn of this, the door was left open by the houskeeping staff so this sign was not visible. My wife missed the step and fell, twisting her ankle and banging her knee. We reported this to reception and the staff could not have been more concerned or helpful. We suggested putting a visible stripe on the top of the step so that future such accidents could be avoided.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay .
We were there for a family wedding , staff were extremely helpful , food was excellent . Beautiful grounds and a historic Manor House . Perfectly nestled in the Cotswolds . Would definitely go back again .

Good if you want to just sleep, wouldn’t eat here.
The property itself was lovely and the room was good if a little tired.
The service at breakfast was shocking and the food quality terrible. We waited ages to be seated and served; the food wasn’t cooked properly, didn’t taste nice and many people walked out.

Beautiful from the outside but overall experience depends on where they put you.
the main hotel is beautiful. parking was fantastic.
room was spacious. beds comfy.
we did not get a room in the manor but stuck in the back building. our view was a brick wall and dead overgrown garden. in their newspaper info it said all roo.s have a nespresso machine cause it's eco friendly. we only had a kettle. if you called front desk they never answered. if your in the back rooms you have to drag your luggage up and down lots of stairs. an Australian company was using a drone to film some people walking in the front entrance. they made us wait while they did multiple retakes of them walking in and out. as we stand there with all our luggage and tired from traveling all day. I found this quite rude. if your going to be filming then plan an alternate entrance for guests or do t film at checkin time of 3pm.
