The Old Farmhouse at Mena

It was really clean and spacious

Leaving was a bummer! Another week would have been great!

Perfekte Lage! Ein tolles Haus direkt neben einem Campingplatz, den man aber nicht hört.

Spacious, warm, comfortable, nothing lacking.

Location was by a quiet campsite run by the hosts. Everything we needed was at hand and the hosts were very friendly and helpful. A great location as a base for exploring the area. There are also 4 EV chargers available too, especially useful as we arrived in 2 EV's so recharged to 100% every evening. We agreed a price for the charging with the hosts and were given the option of daily payment or settle at the end of the week. We also had the Hosts on WhatsApp so if any problems arose they were easily contacted. On one occasion we had no hot water, the boiler was in the main farmhouse attached, but 5 mins later after a brief message, the boiler was reset and all was well again. Don't worry about the farmhouse being attached, It has thick stone walls and you'd never even know it wasn't detached.

There wasn't a garden to let the dogs out in the early morning as even though it was gated, the dogs could get under it. It wasn't a huge problem but with an elderly dog that insisted on getting up at 6am it would have been nice to just open the door and let her out. Obviously pooh patrol would have been carried out every day too. This could be easily remedied by attaching chicken wire to the gate but again, it wasn't a major problem. There are lots of walks to take them on though as being a farmhouse, we were surrounded by fields.
