A cottage full of joy

Tucked beside the sea where the world feels slow and kind, Bay View waits like a storybook you hope you never end. A cottage full of comfort, soft lights and Christmas cheer, Where every room feels cosy, like a hug that whispers welcome here. Outside, little Shetland ponies graze with curious gentle eyes, Tiny hooves on frosty ground, a simple kind of sweet surprise. We fed them apples, brushed their manes, hearts lighter than before, It is magic found in quiet moments, the kind you always hope for. Twinkling garlands dressed the rooms in festive sparkle bright, Warm mugs, soft blankets, winter stars and peaceful nights. A perfect place to rest your bones, let worries melt away, To breathe, to dream, to slow the clock, if only for a day. Thank you Bay View, you charming gem beside the shore, We leave with happy memories and smiles we will restore. A haven for the weary, a place to feel brand new, We loved each gentle moment here, and we will come back too. ❤️✨

A lovely location, nice view and a nice walk out the back. The Shetland ponies were a huge hit with the kids. Very clean.

The best birthday

The cosy and comfortable atmosphere, quiet escape , 3 adorable little ponies , access to clay trails , has everything you need for a great get away , beautiful view and welcoming host

Lovely cottage

Location is perfect for the Eden project and local beaches Lovely little cotrage

The towels left for us smelled of damp quite badly and so did the bed linen which put us right off. There were lots of spiders and we didn’t like the fluffy blankets and throws on the sofas, they can be unhygienic as difficult to wash between guests. ?dog hairs on sofa No reception to watch TV

Fell in love with the property!

Gorgeous cottage! Has everything you need to cook. Has super comfy and clean beds with an amazing view. Even has heated blankets on both sofas and had DVDs, games and little ride alongside for little ones. The coffee machine looks fab but I didn't how to use it. All in all we had an excellent stay.

Knives were blunt and towels were not very soft.

Overall it is a cosy and comfortable place to stay with a lovely view.

Unfortunately it rained heavily all day (not the owners fault!) but the view of the sea and the bay from the little conservatory was potentially lovely. Having three ponies in the grounds was nice. The house was generally very comfortable. It was very nice to have some grounds to walk around and I really liked having a gated property to park the car safely.

The bed very soft and too large for the room - it was too easy to bump into the large, sharped edged, wooden bed frame. The place smelled a little mouldy when we first arrived. We arrived an hour early but felt we needed to sit in the car and wait because our request to enter the house early was refused, even though there was no one there but just a key box to pick up the key, so I cannot see how this would have mattered. Not the best welcome.

stressful, cold and wouldn't stay again.

The views were delightful.

However... sadly the host (albeit we didn't meet) was cold, unaccomodating and made us feel very stressed. There were post-stick notes all over the property re what wasn't allowed and what money she would charge, this was reiterated in messages from the host as early as check-in info. In the end, we actually felt it stressful to explore the grounds in case we stepped in a forbidden spot. We asked to check in one hour early as we had nne month old twins and the weather was awful - this was a problem and not allowed. The house itself had good views, it felt unkempt and kitted with cheap utensils (plastic bronze cutlery) and worn rough towels. There was one picture- a seagull with a pasty saying "MINE". for me this summed up the stay. Important to add we stayed two nights - the second was beacuse we were too tired to pack up with young children and stay somewhere else.

Overall a lovely stay, but the cottage is slightly tired and could be spruced up a little.

Good space outside and very easy to get to Charlestown and Eden Project (we had a car). VERY friendly cat, who we loved but is not at all shy (he will leap on you!) Lovely quiet spot and good sized kitchen/living area for three of us to cook and relax. Overall very cute property, a great location with beautiful views out to sea, and Gumball the cat was an added delight.

Not particularly clean - there was a mouldy bowl in the cupboard and the cutlery needed re-washing before use. The BBQ was not clean and ready to use so we ended up using the oven (which was clean). The rooms fairly clean but there were cobwebs in all the corners and spindly spiders in the bedrooms - unavoidable in a countryside house, but we hoovered on arrival and they weren't back by the end of the three days. The mattresses are obviously a bit tired and lumpy, but fine for three days and given the price.

A lovely time in a quiet and comfortable cottage.

We never did work out how the heating was supposed to work. The notice on the wall said it was controlled via the website, but not how one would access that to turn it on! As it happens we had a nice warm week and didn't need the main heating on, just the booster panel on the wall, which we could work out how to turn on!

A comfortable cottage with a great view of St Austell Bay.

The location was great. A little breezy but more than worth it for the view. Overall the cottage was very comfortable and well-appointed. Very grateful for free and convenient parking.

The only thing we couldn't get on well with was the heating, which was quite confusing. We figured we needed to use the wall panels but could only get one to work so we were a bit cold in the evenings.

Beautiful location and the facilities were more than adequate for a week away with work. The only thing worth noting is that any pubs/ restaurants are a few minutes drive away by taxi... the roads are wayyy to sketchy for walking down.

Absolutely lovely cottage with amazing location. easy self check in. loved the layout, free parking and horses!!! lovely host who added nice touches, would definitely return but not in high season due to cost.

A fair amount of cobwebs/dust, but didn’t ruin the stay. Didn’t appreciate being asked to strip the beds on leaving in handbook - I’m a guest not the cleaner! also thought 4 check in and 10am check out was tight given price, feels like you pay that for one full day and a few hours either side. Most hotels are 3pm/11am.

Sensational

The cottage was stunning and the view from cottage was sensational. Karena who manages the property was amazing. Her communication was brilliant and the house had special touches like a bandana for our dog, dog bowls, a dog chew and a Xmas card. The house was beautifully decorated and the beds were so comfortable. Coffee, tea and sugar was provided and house was well equipped with towels, toilet rolls, soap, shower gel and shampoo. Lots of thought put into this beautiful property. The garden with the ponies was gorgeous too! we celebrated a wonderful new year here. Great location for other places too, like Fowey, Charlestown and even Newquay was not far

Quiet. Secure. Comfortable. Beautiful decor. Sea view. Close to everywhere we went. Garden lovely. The ponies were gorgeous. Had plastic plates etc for kids. Dishwasher good but too small for a family. Beautiful place all in all. Prosecco on arrival. We would stay again.

Some observations for constructive feedback. Spiders everywhere. So many cobwebs missed in their cleaning...that had been there days and days. No can opener..we bought one when the there. Mouldy shower curtain...just get a new one and wash them.. Bed too big for bedroom so kept hitting hip on it. Should swap to other room. Broken window. Clothes horse falling to pieces and washing machine leaked. Never spoke to or met owners. Need child gates/dog gates. Chipped plates/bowls.

Friendly and helpful hosts , Karena gave us some great recommendations for local places to visit and where to eat. We had some difficulty using the tv, we let the hosts know and they came straight over to help . Cosy cottage and beautiful gardens that we were free to enjoy and the highlight was definitely the ponies ! 3 beautiful Shetland ponies that my children absolutely loved, every morning first thing they’d go up the garden to find and make a big fuss of them !

We only stayed for one night, we wished we could have stayed for longer, it’s just perfect!

The location was perfect and the grounds were vast and so pretty, lots of nooks and cranny’s to explore. Our hosts accommodated our dogs and even left us treats for them. Everything we needed there and we had no need to contact our hosts. Our children loved the house and grounds.
