Finlaystone Barns

We stayed in the east barn for a friend's wedding nearby, but the location is also great for countryside walks, visiting local tourist attractions, and isn't far from Glasgow city. We received a very friendly welcome from our host. The barn itself is brilliant, plenty of space, cosy and very quiet. We liked that we could cook if we wanted to, it saved us needing to eat out for the duration of our stay. There is parking available right behind the barn. Basic kitchen utensils were enough to make some simple meals. I know some may not be a fan of the wet room style bathroom, but they provide a squeegee and it's warm and well ventilated, so it's easily managed.

There really isn't much to dislike! The only things were that we couldn't find a plug for the kitchen sink, which we would have liked to have for washing up, and the information book may need some updating but other than that, nothing.

Tranquil location with plenty of open spaces to enjoy on the doorstep. Someone on site during the day should you need any help. Perfect for our stay visiting relatives in a close by village. This was our fourth visit and it doesn't disappoint.

Location was perfect if you want to sightsee . The host was very helpful and tried to fix the problem we had .

First the place needs a good clean . We understand it was a barn and on a country estate but there was dust balls and cobwebs everywhere . The shower is in the toilet so it’s like a wet room if you use the shower you have to try dry the floor before using the loo. Please get a squeegee instead of a broom it’s impossible to get the surface water away. We had a problem with the fridge and it couldn’t get fixed on our stay. The icebox door was hanging off and the ice was leaking on the fridge shelves so you really couldn’t keep any chilled food only drinks .
