Temporary House vicolo Colombina

The location, I cannot underline this enoungh. Best location, 2 min from the Piazza Maggiore and walking distance to everything, shops, restaurants, train station, etc. The flat was clean and comfortable, equiped with all the necessary things for cooking, washing machine, hair drier, etc.

We visited during a heatwave, so we needed the AC that was turning only with the key and nothing else should be running in the meantime.l,.otherwise the power would go off. Downstairs there is a restaurant and it can get noisy in the evening, so if one is an early bird, earplugs are needed. The shower head kept falling as the support was broken. We notified the host, but it seemed that it was an older damage left unrepaired. The tap in the kitchen was dripping as well.

Exceptional in every way, exactly as shown in the photos, no hidden surprises. Perfect location, there's everything you need in the flat, nice and cosy.

The connection gets lost so it's impossible to make a phone call. However, that's very common in Bologna due to old and very thick walls.

Everything necessary was available, everything functional, well-kept and very clean. Well fitted out with washing machine, dishwasher, the lot. The weather was poor but the apartment was warm. Marco the host was always available, though we never met.

Nothing. It was ideal.

The apartment’s main strength is its location — right near the main centre and close to all the key attractions and the main square, directly above a good restaurant. The unit itself was very clean, the kitchen had all the utensils needed for basic meal prep, and the bathroom and washing machine were both functional.

There were some issues worth noting. Firstly, on opening the main building entrance door, there was a strong, overpowering stench of cigarette smoke. This smell does permeate into the apartment itself, though it’s noticeably fainter inside. Secondly, and unrelated to the smoke, the air conditioning units were a problem — this building doesn’t permit external inverter units, so the units installed in the main living area and bedroom don’t cool effectively (and this was during a heat wave - stinking hot!) and are also noisy, with the main room’s unit making an intermittent loud ticking noise. I didn’t hear noise from the restaurant below, as some other reviews mentioned, but the air-con units and heavy-footed tenants upstairs made for a noisy stay and affected sleep. Thirdly, the hair dryer is totally useless. I would suggest providing a hand held one like every other places I stayed at. I had to go to a hear dresser to at least have a proper blow dry once during the stay. The owner was responsive to queries, though replies were sometimes a little delayed.
