Great place to stay and close to all that Ashbourne has to offer.

It was in a central location with all bars and restaurants in walking distance, the room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean, breakfast good and catered for me as a vegan .

Lovely little b and b

We had a lovely nights stay here just before Christmas, bed was lovely and comfortable and off street parking a bonus. Breakfast was good too, would definitely recommend.

Decent

The accommodation details don’t tell you where the carpark is despite many reviews pointing this out. Many struggle to find it as a result. Let me tell you. Driving towards the town centre, and with Compton House on your left, take the pedestrian left turning entrance - 10 metres after Compton House - into what is Sainsbury’s walkway - be very mindful of pedestrians. There’s a dropped kerb which is a visible clue allowing vehicles through. Once through the entrance there’s a double gate on your left with an overhanging bush sporting orange berries. Bingo!…let yourself in, park up, leaving enough room for other cars, and close the gate before checking in via the front door. Other than that the accommodation is dated but functional and in a good location. Great host and splendid breakfast.

Short Festive Breakaway.

A warm welcome from Jane and David. Private secure parking. Very central location. Our spacious, clean, warm and comfortable upgraded room was like a honeymoon suite. Freshly home cooked breakfasts. Wish that we had booked a third night. Would return.

Close to centre , reasonable price

Safe parking at the rear of the property access to the side looks like you're driving into a pedestrian area ! Close to the town.

En suite bathroom door didn't shut easily it was a bit strange set up ! The shower door didn't shut either. Breakfast - I didn't enjoy it at all. The poached egg was very vinegary, and the bacon hard my husband ate all his, so may have been my personal taste! I just felt like the owner wasn't really interested. I asked for milk for the table, and she tried to take the milk off a table at the side of us. When he said he hadn't finished, she then went to get us a fresh one ! I would have to say I would not have been happy being given someone else's milk! We had room 3 on the front it was so noisy, but it was Sat night ! There are a few fast food places nearby, so cars are revving up and down !

Lovely place and owners

We really enjoyed our stay here, the owners are very friendly, accomadating and welcoming, the breakfast was cooked lovely and our room was clean and comfortable. Its a cosy quiet place and well worth the price. Will definitely be coming back again.

The guest house has a lengthy history, some parts date back 500 years and other parts have been added more recently. We stayed in one of the older parts which had a lovely feel. The owners had added a modern bathroom and effective heating along with modern conveniences and personal care products. There was a quaint charm to whole property, we felt very comfortable.

There was nothing to dislike about the property. The car park was a little bit tight to manoeuvre the car, but not too big an issue.

Disappointing

We were really upset to find the room was unclean. brown marks on the furniture, skirting boards, doors and frames. The kettle was very dirty. A dirty and damp cleaning cloth left on the chair. The rug felt sticky and was very dusty. We knew from reviews this would be a cheap and cheerful stay, however it was not clean nor very cheerful. We left early as we didn't feel comfortable. We attempted to speak to the owner but she was not present unfortunately. Sad our very rare child free anniversary weekend was ruined :(

Great value for money, great location

Breakfast was really nice, the hostess was very accommodating to our dietary requirements, room was very cosy and everything worked. Location was great as there were many pubs, shops and restaurants very close by. Private parking was nice.

Lot of roadworks in the area, but not a massive issue. The method for the private parking was not explained properly beforehand, this could have been sorted by Booking.com more efficiently so guests are better informed before arrival.

Instructions for how and where to park the car before arriving would be helpful as had to knock and ask, but parking is very secure at the back of the property.

Perfect stay for our trip

A lovely place which was ideal for our stay in central Ashbourne. Friendly hosts who couldn't do more for us. Excellent value for money including a tasty cooked breakfast option in the morning. Clean room, comfortable beds and nice little touches (including chocolates and biscuits to go with tea/coffee provided). Perfect stay for our trip - we will definitely return - thank you.

Mattress (open sprung mattresses are not good. Invest in a hybrid mattress. It was comfortable with the padding but could still feel the springs on my back.

Great stay

The host was lovely greeted us on arrival and explained where things were. Breakfast was great plenty of choice. Room very clean and complimentary toiletries. Tea and coffee provided in room with the extra touches of biscuits and chocolates . A good place to stay if exploring the area. We did the Tissington trail and the start was just around the corner so perfect .

The mattress on the bed for me was a little too soft but that is personal choice . Also the house was a little dated but I must say it was clean .

Very comfortable stay, the B&B was very clean and great location.

It was right in the centre of Ashbourne, so near all the amenities. The big bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was lovely, it went up steps and had a corner bath and shower. The host was very helpful with directions when we needed to get somewhere the next day and there was a lot of roadworks.

Fantastic..

The owners are a great couple, very fiendly.. serving a great full english breakfast..! Location is perfect.. large supermarket behined, guest house, free limited car parking, 5 mins walk to bars, pubs and kabab shops.. our room was at the front, but no noise even late at night.. Highly reccomend visisting..
