PortAventura Hotel Gold River - Includes unlimited access to PortAventura Park & 1 access to Ferrari Land

Cleanliness of the hotel and surrounds was outstanding. Breakfast was delish and lots in fact, superb! Half hour slot, but didn't at all feel pushed to get out. Choice for dinner was excellent. €27 per person for buffet dinner. Great for kids. We had a slight issue with a child from another party, I reported it and it was immediately and effectively dealt with. Cleaning staff were amazing and friendly. Staff were very helpful. Having early entry to the park was fab. Parking was in easy distance of the hotel. Pool was excellent. Smooth check in and out.

Our shower didn't work. No air con in room. Fridge in room but no kettle.

Food was good and plenty. Clean rooms

We arrived in the morning and because we choose only half board we had difficulties finding something healthy for kids to eat at lunch. Dinner was very good and different each nights but for some reason there was a que at the entrance of the restaurant even if there were free tables inside. Missing cleaning toilet brush in the room.

The direct access to port aventura was amazing . The theme of the hotel is brilliant . We had a family room 2 adults 3 kids, it was a joint room , one room a double bed and a day bed and a kitchen area and bathroom , other room a king bed , tv , wardrobe and bathroom . Perfect for a family. 13 euro in a taxi to salou . Because the hotel is in the park , you could go back to room to prepare food if you want.

We didn’t have a food package , which you really need because the price of food in hotel and parks is so expensive . Our room had a kitchen but no plates or anything so you would need to bring some paper plates and utensils if planning on doing your own food.

The location adjacent to Portaventura Park. The hotel.is beautiful to look at and the Wild West Theme is fab.

How strict the pool rules are, there was no fun for a theme park hotel, felt very policed by the life guards. I entered the pool with sunglasses on to protect my eyes from the sun and within seconds a lifeguard started to approach me , my son had a tiny water gun and he was told not to use it etc. The lifeguards seem to be on strict instructions to restrict all fun and patrol the pools like nothing I've ever seen on holidays before. No fun allowed! Which is probably why the pool area was empty. The allocated slots for dinner is also not fun and the food selection was slack. There were flies in the salad, my son pointed them out. There are no balconies in the rooms and I couldn't open the windows to let in air. The outdoor kids little playground was locked in the evening, no entry. For a theme park hotel it was not what I expected. Beautiful, impressive, clean hotel but not family friendly unfortunately 😕
