A quirky, cosy, little place with a very interesting history. There is everything in The Alms House that you could need during your stay.
The bed was very comfortable and the bed linen of very good quality.
Check in and check out were very easy.
Not keen on a downstairs bathroom, but that's unavoidable in a place like this!

Looked lovely and inviting on entry to the property. Very comfortable bed, nice private outdoor area, well equipped kitchen for a short stay.
WiFi was unreliable.

Keys were easy to collect from the lock box. All the cooking facilities worked and there was a decent selection of utensils, cookware, and dinnerware to prepare meals. Location was excellent for exploring shops and historic sites. The pub across the way was lovely.
The shower cubicle opening is tiny, like maybe 14" if I'm being generous. You have to step up into it sideways. My husband literally could not get in to wash. Luckily, I had a friend nearby who let him go round and shower. The steps to the bed in the loft are quite steep. I found it easier to use them as a ladder.
