Ocean V Hotel

Staff super friendly and welcoming. Premises are clean. Amazing views. Dinner buffet was was good. The panoramic suite is just amazing! My daughters had a Senior Suite which is very nice too.

A bit surprised by breakfast buffet, but still good. No flatwhite coffees, no oat milk. But nice fruits and pancakes. Lunch was a set menu. I had dorade- beautifully done! My husband had lamb pita- good. My daughters has pizza- lack of taste.

Decor was beautiful. The view was stunning. The food was absolutely delicious. It was clean. The bed was very comfortable. The staff was so hospitable. And the price for that was excellent.

If they could have more channels on TV, like Netflix etc. Put a little counter for the kettle and tea bags etc.

Extreme rigidity in enforcing rules. Even when rooms are available, they were not given to us despite the fact that we had requested for early check-in while booking. Even if one room was kept reday for us to freshen up before going out, that would have made us extremely happy.

The staff was overall great, the front desk manager, waiters in the restaurant, and the older guy at the security was lovely. Our room was spacious and had a nice sea view. The food was delicious and well prepared, excluding breakfast. Hats of to the kitchen and restaurant staff. The location was good, close to the public beach and there is a bus stop that you can take a bus to Grand Baie.

I don't think it suits the all inclusive concept. I was very excited to spend time in this hotel, it looked elegant. Price-wise it's good but there are not many options that you can select considering food and drinks. You'll have to ask everything from staff, like water, coffee, drinks and they are not always found in the bar area. There is only one place to hang out which is the roof top bar, the restaurant is also there and the pool. There are waiters trying their best to keep up with everyone but it made us not feel welcomed when we had to keep asking for water. Like they give you two small bottles of water, and there is one bottle in your room and you have to give the housekeeping the empty bottle and wait for the full bottle. It shouldn't be hard to put water dispensers which is more eco-friendly. You can order eggs in the breakfast but nobody tells you that. We realized that on our last day. I think the hotel management is confused. They sell the rooms with breakfast, half board, all inclusive, you can come to the bar from outside etc... also many rules for the guests. Looks like everything is mixed and the staff runs after you to sign the bill which shows what you drank, ate etc. If you forget to sign they come to your room to sign. We're a bit disappointed.
