We had a lovely time, the staff were amazing, lovely tropical vibes, beautiful veranda 'bungalow', fun activities. We stayed at 3 hotels in Mauritius and this was our favourite. They made us feel soo special!

We had a very pleasant comfortable, stay at Varada Grand Baie. Loved the vibe, and the daily entertainment offered by the hotel,The location is excellent….. the staff is very warm and accommodating.

The staff help well with check in... Transfer luggage to room. room with pool view is so close to eating area... Food breakfast and dinner just nice. Can't do sea activity due to weather. Staff extremely friendly to EU people. They don bother accomdating indians may be... So disappointed 😔.

Grand Baie is Very disappointing compared to expectations. So feel like I need to make awareness working in the Travel business. Grand baie is a bit of a dump, so much more potential, that can be organic and holistic for the tourism they get. The resort needs investment. Grand baie bizarre is expensive and a small inside market. The tshirts were cheaper in U Store hypermarket. The catchment area for junk food is around U Store too. There are a few restaurants and bars, but don't seem open in the day. The choice is very limited. U have to rely on ur hotel for F&B and entertainment which was much at the veranda. It's a small boutique hotel, quaint but boring. The sunbeds are all taken, reserved all day. The pool is freezing. The bar /lounge is not very entertaining or inviting. To just have a drink and play cards or boardgames. So everyone goes to their rooms. The gardens are lush. But not used for chill out areas. The public areas are uninviting. It's not a cheap place to stay and not worth the money. Nicely decorated throughout but the service is appalling. U have to ask for everything and wait. They seem very understaffed. No personalisation. On last day I arrived 5mins late for breakfast and everything was cleared away, I was trying to ask for anything to eat. But it was begrudgingly...even tea and coffees cups were cleared. Made me feel very bad to ask. My fault I know but still they didn't voluntarily offer to accommodate me. Even dinner. We didn't want the buffet just a sandwich was when then refused as they were serving only buffet. We got a sandwich eventually but it was with an effort. I don't expect this in mauritius or this type of boutique hotel. Where's going the extra mile. Our last hotel predicted what we wanted before being asked...it's the small touches. Not even any reference to a belated birthday wish for my daughter! Wasn't expecting bells and whistles but they never made us feel special or invited the whole 3nite stay. Pleased we didn't stay longer. Which is a huge shame. As I won't be recommending either.
