Clara was the most wonderful friendly and kind host, she left us some wine to celebrate my birthday. The apartment is lovely and the roof terrace the icing on the cake. Location is excellent right beside the San Mateo gate into the old town. Clara kindly held a car park space for us and the car stayed there free for our stay. Yes, , we did have to change the parking disc every two hours during the day but as we were on the roof terrace during the day and as it was free from 8 am till 8 pm so it wasn’t a big deal for us. There were some comments about the shower in earlier reviews but we managed fine - leaving one side open turned it into a mini wet room and we dried the shower mat on the terrace. Clara was such a good host …. When we had a problem with the AC ( from overuse😆) we were able to contact her straight away and it sorted itself after a wee rest🤣🤣. Definitely the place to stay in San Gimignano so close to everything ( we even tried out the Launderette) so wet at night.

Great location. Less than a minute to walk into old town. Large outdoor patio with a grill available. We spent most of our time on the patio. Host is extremely friendly and helpful. Brought us softer pillows when we requested. Bed was comfortable and WIFI worked great. Great restaurant 100ft away.
Not best for long term stays. No washing machine or dishwasher. Shower is small.
Only public parking is available, It is free but you need to be creative. Not a problem for shorter term stays.

The landlord was very friendly and gave us lots of suggestions on where to visit
-Lots of stairs to get to the apartment on top floor.
-No proper parking as it’s really street parking and you need to go renew it every 2hrs.
-The tiniest bathroom I’ve ever used and I’m only 1.57m tall and very slim. Yet I couldn’t even turn so I gave up showering the 2nd day. -Shower door needs to be replaced immediately as it didn’t work /close properly
