Gion Kyoto Miyagawacyo Guesthouse HANAKANZASHI

The thing I liked most was the location. It's very close to the famous Toji Temple, as well as several other temples nearby and Nishiki Market. There are also many convenience stores within walking distance. The place itself is a cute house, located on one of Kyoto's typical narrow streets, which gives it a nice local feel. It's within walking distance of the riverside and several temples. The property is also only about 15 minutes on foot from Kyoto Station, and you can easily walk, take the metro, or use the bus to get around. The staff are very friendly, and the place is comfortable and welcoming. Overall, it was an amazing experience. I would highly recommend this place. It's clean, quiet, and in a fantastic location.

It's a three-floor building, and if you're on the third floor, carrying luggage can be a bit difficult, but it's manageable. 👍

Everything other than the staff was good. The location, access and all other things were good.

The staff is not nice at all, especially the young german guy with blond hair. When i asked if I can move my bed to a lower bed, he said he really cannot do anything about that. But when another german person arrived the same guy was asking him, if you didnt like your bed, I can move you to some other bed, I can swap it in the system. He thought that I cannot speak German and that I wouldn`t understand what he is saying or what?? He was the one who scanned my passport, he should know that Austrians speak German as well :D Other than that, they spoke very racistly about other nations with other people, not considering about the feelings of other guests. Come on if you work there you should be more sensible about the topics you speak.

Good Location

Very small place with not enough room to store things or move freely. Cleanliness needs to improve a lot. Lots of dust and dirt under beds and left overs from previous guest all around (like clothes, dishes and trash in dorms) No elevator and stairs very narrow and small so really hard to maneuver when carrying even backpacks, so, if you travel with a large luggage, this is definitely not the place. Not room to hang jackets or towels or storage bags. Only 2 sinks in a very tiny powder room for the whole hostel. They have Japanese chairs but no pillows for them at all so you need to set straight on the tatami floor. I even asked the staff and they said there’s only two pillows available for the whole place. No towels provided so bring your own. Check out is at 10 AM which is an hour earlier than most places.
