Randwick City Lodge 2

We were very pleased with our accommodation. The suite was clean and larger than we expected with a kitchenette that had everything you could need. The bed (which was comfortable) was up in a mezzanine, so very useful for a couple who have slightly different sleeping habits. The bathroom was clean and the shower had excellent water pressure! Having a skylight was a real bonus, because it let in plenty of fresh air and light during the day, but you could completely close a cover at night in order to sleep in. Best of all, it was SO quiet in our suite. This might have been because it's winter, so no one was using the courtyard, but I've never stayed in such a quiet room before. So nice!

I can't really think of any negatives. Because we stayed for two and a half days, I would have quite liked to have a dust buster (tiny vacuum cleaner) in the suite, but then on the last day I found a dustpan and brush in the back of the kitchen cupboard, so I could have just used that.

Close to public transportation and was peaceful. Particularly liked the facilities within the room and shared spaces. The property is well maintained and comfortable to stay in.

The location is fantastic, the building is lovely and the hallway is very quaint. The shared kitchen has everything you need but so does the kitchen in your room so you don’t even need to leave the room unless you want to use the stove. There were plenty of bathrooms and showers and everybody else was very respectful and quiet. Easy check in via phone call. Really cheap accomodation. Air con worked really well.

The cleanliness was really not up to par and we are not the fussiest of guests. The top of our cupboards in our room were black with dust and under the bed was the same with also random stuff under there. Inside cupboards not clean either. Worst thing was we arrived Friday afternoon and left Tuesday morning and toilets weren’t cleaned once the whole time, or if they were they weren’t cleaned thoroughly. We also ran out of toilet paper completely one night. Also no staff on site at all. If you want a bargain stay it’s fine but wouldn’t do more than a few nights. Bed was also very old and squeaky not the best and comfiest for jet lag.
