La Charretterie is a lovely old property, well furnished and with a big garden and ample outdoor seating.The village, Offranville, is very small but has an excellent bakery, a couple of takeaways, and village life centres around the Tabac.Dieppe is 15-20 mins drive away and has a beautiful beach and lots of restaurants. Pourville beach also lovely.The host Antoine could not have been more helpful. We had a couple of minor issues which were dealt with immediately - excellent communication and very friendly.Thoroughly recommended.

The property has everything we might have wanted. The local supermarket is just a couple of minutes walk, as are three bakers, restaurants and takeaways. Despite this, La Charretterie has the feeling of being out in the countryside, with great views of field and trees out to the front. Offranville is a lovely small town, and the local beaches are splendid (at low tide anyway). Pourville is a delightful small family resort.

We really enjoyed our stay at the house in Offranville. We stayed there with my parents, my family and my sister's family. For my parents the bedroom downstairs was ideal. The house is located at the edge of Offranville and there is a bakery and small supermarket within walking distance. Lots of things to do in the surroundings too, but staying at home in this beautiful house is also nice. Do note that you need to speak French for the check in (I only understood half of it, but luckily my sister is fluent in French, so that helped).

Lovely house. Well equipped. Great garden too. Easy to walk to village to buy food bread etc. good location for driving to beaches and towns to explore. Check out is at 10 but unfortunately the cleaner was hovering and the gardener came and was cutting the grass at 9.30 which spoiled the last morning making it feel rushed when we were ready and left by five to ten. Apart from that lovely

Splendid property combining historical property with modern amenities. Spacious rooms with lots of light, particularly ground floor. Good-sized rear garden and open views at front. Local supermarket and other shops within a few minutes walk with a car-free path (ex-railway) nearby for cycling/walking to a beach or inland. 3 lovely beaches within a few minutes drive and Dieppe just a little further with great restaurants, long flat seafront and a big market on Saturdays. Host speaks excellent English and is very helpful. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful week at La Charretterie. It is such an amazing house with a great garden. It has a very rustic feel to it which we loved. There is everything you need for cooking although the kitchen workspace is a little small especially given the number of guests staying. The house was very clean but not palatial and not fussy which is good when holidaying with children. Its proximity to the supermarket and the boulangerie is ideal and only a ten minute walk. It is also a quick car ride to Dieppe and the nearest sandy beach. It is important that you check the tide times though. The nearby countryside is stunning and makes for a perfect family holiday.

Found the rustic property to be perfect for a group of 8 friends. Great under floor heating, a lovely large dining table used several times a day. Plenty of crockery, cutlery and utensils. (some a little worn) but enough of everything we didn’t have to constantly wash up. Lots of space at the property, I can imagine it would be even better in the summer. BBQ was missing, but after messaging the owner, he arranged for us to go and collect one from a nearby property of theirs. Loved the location, watching the sunrise across the field out the front, watching the red squirrel and woodpecker in the back garden. Easy walk into town. Didn’t like having to make own beds up upon arrival and having to constantly re log onto the WiFi . I would however recommend the property and stay again if I was visiting the same region. It would make a great stay for a family holiday.

The Most Wonderful Week

We spent a wonderful week at La Charretterie. Antoine responded to our questions so promptly, my elderly parents were accompanying us and I had quite a few questions! The property is very large overlooking a pleasant garden and a very easy walk into the delightful village of Offranville which has a number of patisseries, a tabac (which made us very welcome), banks and a Carrefour and a stunning church with beautiful bell peals. The excellent weekly market is on Friday afternoon and there are visiting food vans two evenings a week with high standard takeaways. You must also visit the gardens and tea rooms which Antoine recommended. We enjoyed visiting the area, Dieppe is only 15 mins away. The house was really too large for our needs but I chose it because of the downstairs facilities together with the two bathrooms upstairs, one with shower and the other with a bath which suited our needs perfectly, I was also very happy with Antoine’s quick responses which gave me the confidence in making the booking. La Charretterie is a gem of a property and we felt privileged to be a guest.

We had a great week in La Charretterie this September . The charming house is very comfortable and spacious, with a large and secluded garden. It is in a very quiet situation on the edge of Offranville, yet just a few minutes walk away from the centre of this lovely town. It is a short drive to the coast at Pourville, and to the centre of Dieppe. The owners were helpful and all communications have been prompt, efficient and friendly. We hope to return!

We have just returned from a fabulous week in this outstanding property. The location is just wonderful - so near to the beaches and the views of the countryside from the house are beautiful. The beds were so very comfortable and the dining table seated everyone comfortably - we had some wonderful evenings. The local supermarket was a short walk away and the local markets had lovely fruits and vegetables. We hope to return next year - maybe trying another of this hosts amazing properties. Highly recommend to any future guests.

We stayed at La Charretterie with 6 adults & 1 child. This is a beautifully restored historic building in a delightful setting, on the edge of a charming village with every amenity one could wish for. Wonderful views across open fields to the front, & a huge secure rear garden for children to play in. The house is very spacious, very well equipped & very comfortable. It is only a short drive to lovely unspoilt beaches. A really pretty & interesting area to visit. The owners are extremely thoughtful and helpful. Would stay there again anytime. Excellent.

Fabulous house for a family holiday

Fabulous house for a family holiday

We booked this house for a family holiday with three children under three years of age (two under one year). It was easy to locate and the perfect destination in terms of closeness to the beach, easy access from the Dieppe ferry, and lots of space in the garden for the children. The little village is delightful as are the country lanes around the area, and we enjoyed several evening strolls. The house is on the whole extremely well equipped. We loved the style of it and the light from the enormous French windows. The BBQ is great as is all the outside seating, which meant that evening drinks and outdoor dinners were possible in the good weather. We did have a problem with the "cot" which was advertised as this was entirely unsuitable for any baby old enough to be moving. It was an old fashioned wooden cot with very low sides and we would recommend that families bring their own and not rely on this one. We had to buy a cot at the hypermarket when we arrived which was not ideal. Overall thoroughly recommend for a lovely relaxing time away.

Last year we stayed at Le Manoir, a house also owned by M & Mme Lenne another fine house to which we gave a 5 star rating. This house is similar but it has an extra bedroom and we especially enjoyed the row of windows which open onto the garden. We should also mention the very smart new picnic table provided on the patio! It is a house of character, clean and comfortable and stocked with everything we needed. We enjoyed our stay very much. In my review of Le Manoir I wrote about Offranville and the surrounding area, so I will not repeat my comments. As before, M & Mme Lenne were prompt and efficient and their representative in Offranville Mme Michel was helpful. We thoroughly recommend this house.

This is the perfect place to go with your friends. A large livingroom for talking, reading and for planning tours to the neighbourhood. A well equipped kithchen and we had splended breakfasts and suppers in the house and outside at the terrace. Offranville is a nice village with a good market and we hired bikes at the former railwaystation.

We were with a 13-person group with 6 children. This house was a very suitable place to enjoy our family life for a week. The children could play in the beautiful garden and the characteristic french house was a comfortable place to sit around for us. A must visit is the beautifull beaches, some 10 min drive. You have almost your own beach. We will come back some day!

We wanted a few days break in France, but without too much driving. La Charretterie was an inspired choice...less than half an hour from the ferry in Dieppe, and yet already in very pleasant countryside. The house was spacious and comfortable and we were made very welcome on arrival. The large lawn area made an admirable playground for the children in the party, while the adults enjoyed the open plan interior and the terrace. The location is very quiet, overlooking farmland on the edge of the village, and yet only five minutes walk to the shops, banks etc. Although quite a small village, Offranvillet has everything one needs, including no less than 4 bakeries, all good and some excellent. The Parc Colombier is well worth a visit, and (for adults especially) the William Farcy parc floral was sensational even in early april. The Bibliotheque has free access to computers and wi-fi. The nearby beaches are glorious! They are probably best enjoyed on a receding tide, exposing wide sandy beaches with some rocky outcrops (covered in mussels). Dieppe is a very pleasant town, with its large marina flanked with a multitude of bars, cafes and restaurants. Upper Normandy is very agreeable region with a lot to offer. La Charretterie made an ideal base, whether to explore the region or to relax at home!

Bonjour, séjour génial, la propriété est parfaite, de l'espace et proche de tous les coins sympas de la Région. Pour avoir la chance de voyager assez souvent en France et à l'étranger via la formule des gîtes, j'invite les hôtes à proposer les formules "all inclusive" comprenant draps, serviettes, électricité.... c'est toujours assez désagréable de devoir rajouter 50€ pour des draps, puis de trimbaler ses serviettes, puis de rajouter l'électricité... Quand on est en vacance, on souhaite le moins de tracas possible et des formules claires... C'est juste une suggestion pour améliorer l'accueil à la Française dans nos belles régions. Bien cordialement.

Perfekte Location zum Kennenlernen der Normandie!

Mit zwei Familien (4 Erwachsene + 5 Teenager) lernten wir erstmals die Normandie kennen und hatten mit der Charreterie eine perfekte Unterkunft und Ausgangslage. Das Haus ist ein sehr gut restauriertes über 300 Jahre altes Gebäude, in dem man sich einfach nur wohl fühlt. Es ist unglaublich viel Platz vorhanden, das gesamte Interieur strahlt Liebe zum Detail und zur Geschichte des Hauses aus. Das Grundstück ist riesig, der Garten für Freizeitaktivitäten sehr gut nutzbar. Alles war sehr sauber, großzügig gestaltet und sehr gut und hochwertig ausgestattet. Die Betten sind sehr bequem und die Schlafräume ausreichend groß. Sehr gut ist auch der große Wohnbereich, wo wir uns alle ohne Probleme gleichzeitig aufhalten konnten, ohne dass es zu eng wurde. Antoine, der Vermieter, ist mega freundlich und hilft bei allen Fragen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Demeure très agréable et chaleureuse avec un décor authentique et une très belle luminosité. Le mois de février ne permet pas de profiter de la belle offre culturelle des environs car la plupart des châteaux et musées à visiter sont fermés. Reste cependant toutes les villes et sites naturels, les bords de mer sont magnifiques. Concernant l'équipement, manque juste une bouilloire pour le thé et la tige pour faire fonctionner la râpe du robot, le reste est parfait !!
