About this house rental

Ideal for a family with children, quietly located in a hamlet of typical local houses, close to the sea (4 km from St Pierre en Port, 7 km from Fécamp, 25 km from Etretat) large flint house with 6 bedrooms, one of which has a shower cubicle and toilet, living room (50 m²) and dining room (45 m²) with direct access via French windows into an enclosed garden with flowers. Bathroom with toilet. Two-car garage and possibility of additional parking. Sleeps 12. Bed linen and some towels are provided and included in the rental price. It is possible to have a piano animation given by a pianist or to rent the half grand piano. To be discussed with the owner. Water and electricity consumption during the stay is at the tenant's expense. Water total incl. VAT per m3 excluding subscription 3.90 euros.
Electricity peak hours per 1 kWh 0.1798 euros. Electricity off-peak hours per 1 kWh 0.1344 euros.

Slightly unkempt inside and out. The lighting in the house was inadequate. There was no mention of additional charges for water and electricity in the original details or for cleaning. However, the hostess was welcoming and charming and stayed in a separate part of the premises. It would have helped if there some staples like bread and milk for which we would have gladly paid. Overall, reasonable value but the property could do with updating. The showers were very small and we were surprised that there was a cramped toilet actually in a bedroom with no screening which made it very unattractive to the extent we did not use that bedroom. No doubt updating would be reflected in a higher price. We felt it had great potential which was not maximised. The living room and dining room were impressively spacious.

Eleven of us (6 adults and 5 children) had a very enjoyable time. The house has character and is well equipped. The garden provided a good spot for adults to relax and children to play. Mme Martin, the housekeeper, is charming but has no English. The owners were quick to respond to emails and very helpful. Be aware that the en suite bedroom has the loo and shower in the room itself. We love the area for it's quietness. There is good shopping in Fecamp and a good smaller supermarket, bars and good restaurant in Valmont; also a lovely riverside park.
