Chalet style in Cortina.

Fourth visit to beautiful Cortina, and I Mughi was the furthest property from the town that we have had, but that's fine if you have a car. The flat was presented in pure chalet style: lots of wood and amusing rooms, with great views across to the ski area. It was very warm and cosy.

The property has an underground garage but we were offered no key to access this. It would have been useful, as one of us slipped on the ice walking to the car and bruised elbow and hip. Typically for Italy, there was no electric kettle or microwave and there were no instructions in English to help us access the wi fi but we got there in the end. The bathrooms and kitchen are dated but functional.

Uncomfortable stay

The location of the property is good. It is in a nice and quiet location with a nice view. It is also close to a bus stop that brings you into Cortina if you wish.

The property could have been so much nicer with very little effort from the owners. The apartment is very spacious but very outdated. The furniture gave it a certain charm which could have been quite nice. However, there was no thought at all put into trying to make the guests just a little comfortable. The kitchen was so poorly equipped, with no coffee machine, with no matching glasses (all old Nutella jars), no beer glasses. There was nothing for washing up apart from an old, used sponge. No towel to dry dishes etc. etc. There is a balcony with nice views but no furniture to sit outside to eat for example. Only a table and a bench that could not be used in combination. In theory, it is possible to use the outside space but again there are only 2 very old and unusable sunloungers. So we just took towels down to sit outside. It is really not an apartment where you can spend a lazy afternoon. Also the introduction by the host was so brief without any information given. No explanation where the washing machine is for example (that was listed as facilities), we had to ask for the WIFI (which was quite poor as well). All in all, we felt quite left alone and uncomfortable in the house. It is not a nice holiday stay. We had spent the first part of our holiday in a different location in the Dolomites and everything was so perfect there for the same price. It was very disappointing. Again, just a little more effort could have made this into a much better experience.
