A perfect base to explore Harris & Lewis

The hut is gorgeous, so clean, well equipped, warm and cosy and right on the loch. The location is stunning, the instructions are great and we had a magical stay! We will definitely be back

Stunning, beautiful but way to small.

The location is stunning. Beautiful tidal loch. Easy to get there. Host very helpful. The accommodation is very very compact but well laid out. All necessary equipment.

The Hut is very very small, no room for a suitcase unless it’s under the bed. Probably ok for a young fit couple but at 80 difficult to get up and down all the time for things. No where else for storage as it so small. In bad weather there is no where to sit. A small sun lounge to the front would transform the place.

A blissful getaway

the hut is very well appointed with everything you might need and more, it is spotlessly clean. We came in late October and we're very warm and snug despite arriving during Storm Ashley.

It is worth bearing in mind that this is a gloriously remote, quiet getaway. We saw no pubs at all on Harris, most amenities close in September so do plan ahead and be prepared to travel if you fancy some fish and chips.

Unbelievably beautiful

Location is superb, one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever stayed at. There is no one around apart from an occasional car or cyclist passing by. Perfect to get away and have a few days with a book. The hut itself is incredibly beautiful and the owner’s attention to detail is superb. It is very clean and tidy, and has absolutely everything one needs for their stay. No wifi, of course, which is great, but 4G signal is surprisingly good. Exceptional wee place!

The winds were really strong for a few nights, and the wee hut was shaking quite strongly, like an earthquake, so not much sleep… Likely because it stands (very securely!) on little wheels, which is very cute, but because of the gap underneath the wind is felt much stronger. Obviously nothing can be done with the weather, though!

Excellent and 100% recommended for couples.

The Fisherman's Hut is a truly unique place to stay when you're spending your holiday on Harris/Lewis. The locations is really the best to venture into any direction, the views of the highest mountain and the loch are stunning. If you want to go for a little walk along the road or into the fields, it's all there. The little hut has literally everything you could imagine, the bed is comfy (great mattress!), the kitchen is equipped with all you need, and the bathroom has nice warm water from the shower. You have your own parking spot and even a little beach (if you should feel like going for a swim). All in all, this is probably the most memorable place we'd stayed during our trip through the Hebrides and we would return anytime.

Very happy, Julia was a 1st class host, always available to answer questions.

Very warm & cosy accommodation in very nice settings. The location allowed us to easily visit both Lewis attractions & South Harris attractions. Julia is brilliant & provided some nice items that made breakfast most enjoyable.

The road to the hut is a very steep downhill & takes a bit of getting used to but as a result is well away from the main road & traffic noise.

Stunning setting, had absolutely everything you would need, surprisingly spacious, well appointed and a great point to explore Harris and Lewis. Owner very helpful lots of maps, games , leaflets and info to assist you on your stay.

Peaceful, undisturbed and relaxing. No signal by the loch made it easy to switch off from the world.

The cooking facilities were great, and found the opportunity to have a bbq although the weather wasn’t always in our favour. There was plenty of storage for our belongings… the location is so peaceful. It was easy to switch off and relax.

There was a lingering smell of smoked fish in the hut from our arrival and throughout our stay.

simply perfect with everything you could possibly need for a quiet get away

The fisherman’s hut is in a fantastic secluded location. The property was immaculate with everything you could possibly need. there is a local shop close buy and a supermarket on the island. we managed to fit 4 days worth of shopping into the fridge and cupboard. loch on our doorstep was great for kayaking and there are excellent trails near buy for walking or mountain biking. Over all simply perfect and just what we where looking for.

If you can't relax here.....

This place genuinely is exceptional. Utterly sublime location, almost beyond words in its natural beauty and restful seclusion. The hut is beautifully and intelligently laid out, with everything you need. While I didn't physically meet the owners, they were really friendly in e-mail and phone conversations, and a minor maintenance issue was dealt with pretty much instantly.

Do go prepared for Harris weather - it changes very quickly, and beware of that wind! (Not that I minded in the slightest, but I thought I should write something here......)

A cosy getaway in the middle of stunning surroundings.

A beautifully appointed fisherman's hut with almost everything you could possibly need. Fab location beside the loch & the outside seating area was lovely.

Unfortunately the weather wasn't great & as a result, the only thing we felt was missing was hooks to hang wet anoraks on.
