Lochedge Lodge

Julia and David were amazing hosts. The cottage was beautiful, in a remote part of Harris. The biggest grocery shop is in Stornoway, another much smaller shop is about fifteen minutes away by car. Everything you could possibly need was provided in the cottage, along with a welcome basket which was a lovely surprise. The location and scenery was superb. Watching eagles land and feed just over the road from the cottage was a highlight of our holiday.

Nothing, it was perfect

Location and view was beautiful and the stay was very clean. Free toiletries and lovely bottle of wine left by the hosts. Coffee which we did use was a great touch. Ironing and ironing board was good. Shower was fantastic and towels and robe provided.

Firstly the two green chairs to try to relax were so uncomfortable,could really have done with a sofa. But said in the booking it has a sofa. Having to sit at a table chair to get comfy was my main problem. The bedroom being upstairs away from the bathroom toilet was a problem for us. One being wooden stairs and having to turn a light on to go downstairs to the toilet which woke us up. That being said,our feet were slightly wet from the shower floor,which I slipped. Could really do with a carpet down the middle and a better lighting situation. But there was a small night light at the bottom which was inadequate to see. Wasn't aware the owners were joined on whilst we had booked the trip. Also if we did like it here,we were going to bring our small dogs,however on reading the information pack,your dogs were not allowed upstairs in the bedroom or on the furniture anywhere in the property. Could not see this on the booking information. But might be there in the small print. It mentioned a private patio,but was overlooked by hosts living room,which stopped us from sitting out. Tried to work the heating out to dry our cloths but couldn't fathom how to,but that's down to us not asking. This is just an honest review,were are not one for leaving reviews good or bad,but just felt that if we knew the hosts lived joined on,we would not have booked this holiday let as it's not a lodge,and basically we would if liked more privacy.

We loved the Lodge, it was comfortable, in a beautiful location and our hosts were lovely.

Fantastic location, scrupulously clean, very well appointed, kind and helpful hosts and an extremely comfortable bed.

Absolutely nothing - we only have positives about Lochedge Lodge.
