The Shielings by Inverlochy Villas

It was like something out of a book. Our shieling was located in the backgarden of the Inverlochy Villas. It was very cozy but also more spacious that it first appeared from the outside. We had two single beds against the walls which were quite comfortable with a space in the middle to move around. The bathroom was very functional with space to put our toiletries and even some thoughful touches by the hosts (air freshener and sanitary bags). We had a small kitchenette complete with microwave, kettle, toaster, mini fridge and a good collection of cutlery, crockery and glassware. We even had a washing up brush, liquid, cloth and teatowel. In our mini fridge was a breakfast box containing juice boxes, fruit and croissants which we really appreciated. The water in the bathroom was also filtered, so no problem refilling our water bottles. We also had a collapsable table and 2 chairs inside, and seating outside on a deck. Our hosts were Adrian and John. We only interacted with John, he was really friendly and nice. When we arrived he gave us some information about the local area, shops, public transport etc which we really appreciated. He also let us know about the various animals and wildlife that frequented the area we were staying in. On our last day, John even drove us to the bus stop downtown (to get to Edinburgh) so we didnt have to take a local bus first with our luggage. We could walk to downtown Fort William in 20-30minutes depending on the route taken, and the 46, 47 and other buses have stops right at the end of the driveway which makes getting around very easy. Nearby is a retail park with an M&S foodhall, Aldi, Home bargains and Mountain warehouse so we were very well stocked up. There was also a Morrisons, Lidl and Tesco Express downtown. We really enjoyed our stay here and I would happily come again.

Fabulous location with views of Ben Nevis and handy for Glen Nevis and the distillery. Fort William only a 5 minute drive away. John and Adrian were helpful and attentive hosts and the breakfast supplied was a nice touch. Pods very warm and cosy with everything you could need for a short stay.

Probably not the most suitable for a longer stay or a young family but for our purposes, three nights and no kids, absolutely perfect.

Breakfast was a bonus. Excellent.

The late check in. The very slippery decking around the pod. Someone will slip.

Good location. Pods were comfortable and warm.

Check In time of 4pm is too late. The decking around the pods is way too slippery. Someone WILL fall. Pods need maintenance. Large tree at driveway entrance makes it difficult to exit the accommodation.
