Karl's availability and warm welcome. The apartment was pleasant, well-maintained, and clean, as was the terrace. Shops were nearby, and the location is great, next to the beach but the city centre remains easily accessible.

The location was great; we were close to the beach and just a short walk from supermarkets and cafés. The living room was large, with a sofa, balcony, air conditioning, and a big TV. The apartment is large and spacious. The balcony is spacious, but you can only use it in the morning—otherwise, it gets too hot. The neighborhood was nice. The host was very kind and welcoming.

When problems arose, communication was very frustrating—rather evasive and offering no solutions. Although the listing advertised air conditioning, there was no air conditioning in the bedrooms, which made it unbearable given the heat in Valencia. Air conditioning was only available in the living room. The fans didn’t help; one was just loud and didn’t produce any breeze at all. Especially given the summer heat in Valencia, this poses a health risk. There was also regular construction noise in the building. None of us slept very well in the apartment. The cleaning of the apartment was inadequate. There were grease residue droplets in the kitchen exhaust system. I also found broken glass in the kitchen, which cut me—and could be even more dangerous for small children. The dishwasher drain was clogged with glass and other debris. There was an old sock under the sofa, and the crevices of the sofa were filled with dirt left by previous guests. I found traces of feces on the underside near the hinge of the toilet seat. In hindsight, I’m not even sure if the bed linens were properly laundered. The photos on Booking.com are probably from the last renovation, which must have taken place several years ago. The wallpaper in the hallway is starting to peel, and the shower already has a small leak in the seal. The bathroom door won’t lock and is always slightly ajar, which doesn’t allow for any real privacy in the bathroom. Plus, you’re constantly at risk of accidentally bumping into the bathroom’s sliding door. The wallpaper in the bathroom near the sinks is very dirty. The toilet made a loud knocking sound every time you sat on it. A light bulb in the bathroom burned out on the last day. From noon until evening, the sun’s rays on the terrace are too intense, despite the awning, making it unusable. The elevator is very cramped and small. Very cheap furniture was used.
