Lovely country house

I didn't know there was no tv, but that wasn't a problem. I thought the room was a bit cold, but it's an old residence, nevertheless there was a heated blanket in the bed and it was very cosy. Unfortunately I couldn't have a look around the garden because it was raining and miserable, but it looks beautiful. Breakfast was excellent.

Beautiful Country House

My husband, 2 teenage daughters, dog and I stayed at Clone Country House for 1 night. We all loved the atmosphere in the beautiful old country house. We loved the peacocks roaming around the grounds, the ducks and the gorgeous and friendly Airedales. It was great to be able to bring our dog as it's not easy to find pet friendly accommodation. We were greeted by a very friendly lady and we had some nice conversations with the owner Jeff. The room was spotless and the breakfast was delicious.

Rural Ireland at its best

A historic house in rural setting, waking up to bird song and delicious breakfast 🍳 The room I was given was of huge size and I liked the heating blanket in the bed.

I do understand that very old houses come with their own challenges like wobbly floors, etc. but definitely would stay there again 😃

Lovely building and location but unfortunately the negatives mean we will not be returning

Nice spacious room

Room was very cold. Radiators very ineffective, portable heater was provided but not sufficient to warm up the room. The sockets tripped sometime in the night. We had an early check out and despite breakfast included in price we were unable to even get a small packed breakfast to go. 30 euro surcharge for the dog is excessive and the most we have paid on various trips.

Ideal for a night if driving through Glendalough area

In the midst of Ireland's nature. A wonderful house, preserving the old character through its decor. No TV in the room, but you get offered to use a beautiful sitting room with sofas as a common area with TV. Breakfast cooked fresh. The room had a heater and the bed had an electric blanket. An ideal accomodation, even for just one night, if you are driving through the Glendalough area.

Old world charm

Lovely old Victorian country house. Not the warmest in December, but possibly partly due to a power cut shortly before arrival. Loved the lounge with open fire. Lovely grounds. Breakfast very pleasant.

Not the easiest to find in the dark. My gps took me round the world for a short cut.

Jeff and everyone else running the place, thank you! It was perfect.

We loved how peaceful and tranquil it was, not to mention all the furry friends. The perfect place to relax and wind down. Couldn’t recommend it enough. We booked the room with the sauna and it didn’t disappoint, no phones or technology needed. Just peace, rest and recovery.

We were woken up but what we think was the peacocks, although we weren’t sure 😂. We found the Charm and humour in this however.

A real treat in Wicklow

Clone Country House is simply stunning and also the perfect place to rest and relax in the middle of Wicklow. The rooms are beautiful, especially the sitting room and also the garden. The breakfast was great, especially the homemade scones. Jeff was very kind to us and we hope to return one day!

Old and tired - not great

I get that it’s an old house with supposed olde worlde charm but the facilities are minimal. Bed was barely comfortable, not enough working electrical sockets, shower looked about 30 years old. No restaurant for miles and NO TV!!! Host was not interested when I told him and seemed like he couldn’t care less.

Happy Break Away

We really enjoyed our stay in Clone House Jeff welcomed us in and explained the facilities We found the house to be quiet and comfortable with lovely decor and beautiful gardens. We hope to return in the near future.

One Of A Kind..

We loved absolutely everything in Clone Country House, from the moment we turned into the driveway, till we left next morning. It is so so gorgeous & as for the surroundings & walkways & gardens they beautiful. Bedroom comfie, peaceful, & so cosy. Breakfast cooked to order & so tasty & a great selection of juices fruits cereals & breads... Well done to the 2 host's Jeff & Svetlana on such a gorgeous Country House Accomodation.. Ye will see us again...

Lovely gardens, beautiful rooms with views to the garden, pet friendly, lovely owners with three cute friendly dogs. Spacious living room to relax in. Fantastic breakfast in the morning

I didn’t realise it was more of a “bring your own drinks and food” kind of place. They offer dinner but for large groups in advance so we went 20 mins away to a lovely restaurant for dinner. They don’t seek drinks you take your own

Lovely place and dog friendly, it was my first time staying with our pug in a dog friendly place and it was soooo clean. I was shocked how everything was spotless and not smelly. Dogs were not allowed on bed and I loved that. Breakfast was homemade and nice.

We paid extra for that king room( with golden bed frame and bath and very vintage looking but we got some basic room I think was Queen? Anyway I said this is not the room we paid for but he said everything is fully booked? So doesn’t matter what room u book u get what they have? Waste of extra money.

Old, beautiful grand house in the middle of the countryside. Beautiful rooms with antique furniture and pretty gardens available for guests to explore. Excellent breakfast. Super comfortable bed and lovely view from the room.

Wonderful place and location. The hosts are lovely and the dogs were a nice extra :) the grounds are beautiful and the room was comfortable. The sauna was da perfect touch after a long international flight.

We ended up in a room with a private bathroom. Unfortunately mentioned bathroom was on the whole other end of the house/hallway. Wasn’t mentioned in our booking and slightly annoying. But that’s the only negative thing I can say.

Charming getaway in a period home and gardens

Beautiful setting and gardens for well kept historic property. Our host, John, could not have been kinder and more accommodating of our needs and questions. Our room was clean and well appointed and fit our family of four well into a space large enough for all of us together. The breakfast offered several choices, including a GF version and was sumptuous and very tasty. The location was perfect for our sneers and interests. We would definitely book again.

Never again

This place ans it's location gets 10 put of 10, but I've never ever in my life slept in such an old noisy bed in my life, it was categorically the worst bed I've ever slept in. Everything else was so beautiful but we drove away so pissed off that we couldn't "be together" thr best shower, staff, location, it was all 100% but the brd was embarrassing. I would never take my girlfriend here again.

The bed was the only bad part but it was absolutely disgraceful
