Modest but pleasant stay in St. Louis

It was a pleasant stay in St. Louis, very close to the train station. We had all the facilities for a modest, but very pleasant stay. The landlord was helfpul.

Book this place ONLY if you want something cheap for 1 night to get to the airport easier.

It's a studio with very basic ammenities, sufficient to cook a meal and rest in a private space. Very warm blankets and very conveniently near to Saint Louis bus station which made it easy to go to the airport.

The house was really cold. We turned all 3 heaters up to high but 2 of them were cold to touch, the only 1 was slightly warm like a level 2/5. The host said it was centrally controlled and he could not do anything, but thankfully the blanket was thick and warm. However this was the end of Dec. Any colder, this house is really uncomfortable to stay in. Items in the kitchen were dirty, I had to give everything I want to use a wash before I feel at ease to cook and eat with them. The floor was also quite sticky in the kitchen. Walls are very thin, we can hear everything from the outside. In the noon and even 4am people upstairs were having a great sexy time, woke us up several times when the unit beside got pissed off and were banging the wall.

Appartment near to the local railway station = final stop of the airport bus, adequate size und properly funrnished, inclduing the kitchen, bathroon ok, cosy bed, TV had German channels

- Check-In: key provision did not work out properly, the information provided was incomplete, there was no mentioning that the red tag at the key served as elctronic tag for getting access to the building (number 76, even that did become fully clear from the decription), the only positive fact was that the owner was available on phone and was willing to come and show, how to get access to the appartment, in total it took more than 30 minutes to get access - communication was difficult due to different languages spoken, sorry but I do not speak French, only English and German was not fully understood - the shower is rather small and the door did not fully prevent water leakage - the water heater cause the residual current circuit breaker to be activated - invoice does not comply to typical rules of the finacial autorities (e.g. no number, no statement for value added text)

Great location, but the apartment could be better — especially in terms of cleanliness.

The location is fantastic, just a 3-minute walk from Saint-Louis train station. The apartment is adequately equipped. It has a nice terrace. It was really quite.

Cleanliness – I was welcomed by an unmade bed, a half-empty 1.5L bottle on the table, some hair in the sink, and two wet towels on the bathroom floor. The beds aren’t very comfortable, but that didn’t stop me from sleeping well.

Not too much to like except for the presence of a kitchen and a balcony. The location was good though.

The shower was leaking, so very difficult to take a shower. The bed cover was stinking. Probably unwashed after use by previous guests. Host not very responsive on phone.

After a 12 hour drive we were at the address and when we contacted the owner he informed us that he canceled our reservation due to overbooking /whatever that means/..so we ended up on the street

Comfortable, close to station, helpful host

Lots of helpful instructions and pictures that helped me find the key. Very suitable for one night and one person. Very close to the railway station.

It's not so much what I didn't like about the property, it's the way gaining access works. I couldn't fault the host's willingness to help. But after 3 previous nights in 3 locations, then arriving in the dark and having to go to another property to get the key for where I was staying (nearby) and being tired, it was quite stressful: When all I wanted was a check in desk and receptionist to give me a key! But that was my fault, for not appreciating the impact of travel and arriving in the dark. Also at 9.30pm no shops were open to obtain milk to make a drink and only a couple of restaurants and a take-away rather than somewhere to buy food to cook. But St Louis is so much cheaper than Basel with good transport links so I have no complaints about the property and value of.

Exactly what we needed

Very good instructions by the host. Very close to the train station. Functional little kitchen. Lovely patisserie downstairs. Park with outdoor training equipment right across the street.

...interesting scavenger hunt feel to getting the key. Best do it while it is still light :-)

it’s a small apartment with kitchen, bathroom, small balcony and two beds. communication was only over message and picking up key in a keybox

the mattresses are not at all comfortable, it’s not much around (bakery etc) for a short stay ok

NO VOLVERÍA

La ubicación está bien

Las fotos no son reales. Cuando las ves piensas en algo espacioso, pero nada mas lejos de la realidad. Hay dos camas separadas por una mesa de noche y justo al lado los dos sillones y la mesa. La mesa de la tv está arrinconada. Esto no te permite ni poner las maletas porque la habitación no da para más. Te duchas literalmente a oscuras ya que el tabique del plato tapa la luz. La limpieza brilla por su ausencia. Fuimos a usar el hervidor y tenía agua con moho. Debajo de la mesa de la cocina suciedad de tiempo. Muy caro para lo que es.

Emplacement proche de la gare et donc facile de se rendre à Bâle. Vue dégagée. Clarté. Calme. Boulangerie au pied de l’immeuble.

Équipements de cuisine assez limités ou assez usagés. Matelas trop fins pour un lit. Robinet du lavabo défectueux, cuisine exiguë mais petite terrasse agréable. Mais ces remarques sont à relativiser en rapport avec le prix.

Distancia de la estación de tren y el aeropuerto. La terraza. La amabilidad del dueño con las explicaciones. Wifi. Posibilidad de cocinar.

La lámpara del salon-habitacion muy baja. Te chocas todo el rato. La cama muy incómoda, el colchón se hunde, hace falta cambiarlo. Y hace falta una almohada, un cojin no hace la función. A 5km de Basilea apartamento humilde en barrio humilde.
