A delightful and quirky place to stay with a wonderful breakfast and a charming host. We were made to feel very welcome and were well looked after.

Central location in Mortagne au Perche, but peaceful. Some marking available. There was a friendly magpie who spent the evening with us in our room. Great if you like birds!
The bathroom had a deep bath, but no non-slip mat and no handles for getting in or out. (I have two hip replacements, so an issue for me.)

A delightful hidden gem. 18C mansion with many of the original features inside and out. Interiors are wonderfully eclectic mix of old/original, contemporary, oriental objects and art works. AND Lovely host
There is nothing that we did not like.

This was the most unique property I have seen! So many beautiful things to see and pieces of history. Our rooms were so comfortable- I slept so well. The host was just a lovely, kind woman!

Arthur is so welcoming to his oasis behind the huge, secure gates on the quiet rue des Tailles near the centre of Mortagne au Perche.

Breakfast excellent and comfortable room but no lock. This is a conversion of an old mansion which has clearly given the owner great pleasure and he kindly showed us the elegant rooms he has finished. only 2 visitors on that day
No restaurant on site, but within the beautiful historic town of Mortagne-au-Perche a quality restaurant was recommended by the owner a short walk away
We liked the unusual restful overnight experience, but found initial arrival difficult as the entry bell was small and high and the doorlock at night difficult to manage, but apparently changes restricted without agreement form historic source

It was very individual and artistic with beautiful architecture. Hidden behind a large door on a small street it was wonderful once you entered the courtyard to see the house.

The public rooms were lovely and the breakfast on the terrace each morning was a delight.

centrally located. Hosts were friendly and informative and could not have been more helpful. House is very FRENCH, faded elegance, so interesting and many antique items and furniture. Certainly a house of much character.

Breakfast was fabulous, with fresh fruit and croissants. Also Comte cheese and various charcuterie. Host brilliant and attentive, good tea selection and of course coffee and orange juice.

The outside apearence is very nice, the garden is beautiful and the owners are very pleasent and healfull. Breakfast was OK.
We booked one family room and one junior suite. Apparently there are no familiy rooms or juniors suits. It is just 2 rooms in one building and 2 rooms in a long corridor with other rooms in the big house (with the bathroom outside the room). This is completly unsuitable for a family.. How thinks a child can sleep alone in a room with other guests and no locks on any door????
We had to sleep in one room with the little child in the bed with us and didn't even use the second room (but were of course charged for it). My parents and two other children stayed in the other building.
The inside is very strangely decorated, with stuff animals and not woth good taste. The place is very dusty and there was nothing in the room. Not a kattle ot anything to make tea or coffee.
There is a lot of potential and only needs some love and care (and maybe interior designer) to make it a wonderfull place.

An exceptional, elegant eighteenth century hotel - hidden away like a breathtaking secret. Even the bathroom was magnificent with a mighty beamed ceiling. Our host was charming, breakfast perfection.
It would have been better to have been able to stay for more than one night.

On a adoré.
