From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome—warm, friendly, and genuinely attentive as they personally showed us to our room. Everything about this hotel is spotless and impeccably presented: spotlessly clean, beautifully tidy, and everything feels fresh, modern, and lovingly maintained. Our room was an absolute delight—cosy, wonderfully warm, supremely comfortable, and so pristinely clean it was a joy to return at the end of the day. The bed was heavenly and delivered the best night’s sleep we’ve had in ages. The fantastic inclusions of free parking and a delicious breakfast were real highlights—the breakfast spread was outstanding, fresh, varied, and absolutely delicious, the fresh coffee was a personal highlight too. Best of all, the location is perfect: under 5 minutes’ walk from the vibrant town centre, with an abundance of great bars, restaurants, and attractions right on your doorstep. This hotel exceeded every expectation, and we’ve already decided—we’ll be returning here time and time again. There’s simply no need to look anywhere else!

The room was up a very difficult flight of stairs.

A small quiet hotel near the cathedral and town centre in Bury St Edmunds. It has the benefit of convenience for the main road network (A14), the town centre (5 minutes walk) and on-site parking. The room was very clean and spacious. As it is a small hotel there is just a small lounge and bar area but very comfortable. Breakfast was served in a bright spacious room. Plenty of choice ranging from the "full-English" through to vegetarian options. Very friendly proprietor who let us check in despite our early arrival. Overall it couldn't be faulted.

We had no complaints. This was our second visit. This time our room was on the first floor. Previously we had a room on the second floor that is accessed by fairly steep stairs. This is not an issue for us but maybe for less mobile individuals they should request a first floor room, although I recall the owner was perfectly happy to help with our bags.
