The staff were fantastic. There is a car park with a charger for my electric car. Really comfortable bed. Lots of comfortable places to sit around the building. Great selection of books to read and games to play. There's a kitchen with a dining table where we could heat up ready meals and sit and eat when it was too cold and rainy to venture out in the evening. The breakfast was delicious.
It was a bit of a trek to the town but that would probably be fine in better weather. The shower was a little small and cramped but that's a very minor thing in an overall lovely place to stay.

Friendly staff to greet us, quirky decor, beautiful historic building, very comfortable mattress and clean room
The bathroom mirror was broken and some of the furnishings felt in need of modernisation

Great room - we had one of the rooms with a kitchen, which was excellent. The room was very comfy; light, bright bathroom. The dressing gowns were great to have. This was our third stay at this B&B - I really like its look and feel, the staff are always reallly friendly and the breakfast is excellent. Will definitely stay again. It's an easy walk into town for the market, Abbey Gardens and the many restaurants and coffee shops, as well as the independent cinema. And within walking distance of the Parkrun at Nowton Park!

Lovely place and setting not far from town. I had a reaction to some meds whilst there and was ill. The staff were lovely as I was quite embarrassed to be sick. Sorted my room and were very understanding and kind. Thank you will come again.

Location,cleanliness,staff & good value
There wasn’t anything particularly,it would have been lovely if there was some history to read about the place.

The inn is a beautifully restored Tudor era building. The breakfast was cooked to order and plentiful, with good coffee. When I asked the hostess where I could do laundry because we had been traveling for a week, she offered to do it for us, and returned it to us next day: clean, dry, and folded.

Good location, around 10mins walk to town, but an easy walk and it was a lovely morning for it. Great breakfast and very comfortable room
I would have liked a bath but in fairness I didn’t ask….. will do next time.

Our stay was very comfortable. We stayed in Room 3, which, to our delight, had a mini-kitchen where tea and coffee were provided for.
Staff were very friendly and breakfast was excellent: a wide variety of different kinds of food were on offer.
Readers will enjoy the large selection of books available.
As a bonus, the hotel is a short walk from Bury's beautiful cathedral and an array of shops and restaurants.

Excellent use of a period property, expect quirks and little bits that are to be expected in a place this old, if you do then you will not be disappointed.
Nice welcome on arrival, shown to room with a smile and asked if there was anything else we needed, Bed was comfortable with a clean white Duvet, extra blanket in wardrobe, plenty of hanging space and drawers, the room was clean, tidy and nicely decorated, our accomodation was 2 rooms so we also had a sitting / dining / kitchenette.
Breakfast was superb with a cereal yoghurt and a variety of nuts and dried fruits, followed by an excellent full English (No hash browns thank god), other options were available to order. (forgot to ask the lady who served us her name, but well worth a mentioning how nice and friendly she was).
All in a great little place to stay for a couple of nights if Bury St Edmunds is your base or destination. A*

It’s homely, friendly, personal atmosphere when we arrived and at breakfast the following day and as we sat out in the garden during the morning and chatted to “Dad”.

Superb freshly cooked breakfast served to us by friendly staff who clearly showed a pride in their job. All other staff who we had contact had a similar and helpful approach
Whilst our room was comfy it was a little small
A very narrow entrance to the small carpark with entrance signage which is easily missable from the road

Great location but also really quiet. It's such a historical beautiful building. Big room and a really comfy bed. Breakfast was made to order, and the choice was numerous. I love staying here.
It was perfect for what I needed.

Beautiful medieval and Tudor properties. Excellently decorated and furnished with stunning period features and exposed beams. The staff were brilliant and very attentive and we cannot speak highly enough abstained it Natasha who loves ones after us.

Character property not too far from the centre of Bury St Edmunds. Freshly cooked breakfast with softly scrambled eggs…….. excellent
Looking a bit tired and scruffy around the edges. A lot of road noise from cars outside, which woke us up several times.
We felt I t was a bit overpriced compared to other hotels in the area, however the staff were lovely.

Very friendly, car parking out the back (limited spaces) I managed to park. Comfortable bed, with a lovely shower. Very clean throughout.
Amazing Breakfast, freshly cooked.
Although it wasn’t hot in the room in May, I would be concerned it could get warm in the summer months.

The room was very comfortable and quiet. The staff were lovely and friendly. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful.
Access to the car park is a little tight, although we were informed of this beforehand.
Good situation for walking into Bury and to the Abbey.
Very pleasant stay.

Everything was great, but Natasha was exceptional, friendly, helpful and professional.
The turn into the property off the road is a bit sharp and can be tricky to navigate.

We found the hotel car park easy to access and the reception clearly marked. A beautiful welcome with clear description of resources and 'things to do in Bury'
The room was large with everything we needed and breakfast was perfect for both our different needs.
Bury is a beautiful place, steeped in history and a good market at the weekend. There are plenty of cafes and pubs and a football team. We found the Abbey Gardens a wonderful place to recap on history. It was obviously a great place for families with lots of natural entertainment for children whatever the weather.

Large, bright and well-equipped room. Excellent breakfast with efficient service.
No issues.

Very comfy bed in a quirky room. We commented that all the rooms would probably be different from one another.
Breakfast was great. Plenty to choose from in terms of cereal, etc and then cooked breakfast of whatever you liked really. We had the full English breakfast and it was enough to keep us going all day.
Onsite parking available (which was very useful).
The gap to turn in to the car park is very narrow. We missed the turn for the car park at first and had to drive round the town to come back to it. Not really a problem - now we know where it is. Very useful having on-site parking though.

Great location - easy walk to Abbey & town centre. We took the two bed house so had the advantage of kitchen (well equipped) and living room - and two bathrooms. Very clean - and friendly staff. Great breakfast - Lowestoft kippers were superb. Would definitely stay again.
Other reviewers have mentioned the noisy road - if sleeping at the front of the property and a very light sleeper, it might disturb you - but the traffic reduces greatly in the evening/night time so isn't a big issue.
